Very very informative. I have only flown at night a few times; fireworks and Christmas lights. I have always needed to go much higher than 400 to even be able to see where I was flying. Any thoughts?
@livingwithrob2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ron. There are a few variables here. If you are within 400 feet in radius to something, say, 150 fee tall, you can legally fly to 550 feet. You are able to fly to 400 feet above any object so long as you remain within 400 feet in radius of that object. If you are flying at night, you must have, to my recent understanding, remote ID installed and working on your drone. The Air 2s is Remote ID complaint as is the Mavic Mini 3 pro and the Mavic 3 from what I have read. You must also have a beacon on your drone that can be seen from 3 Nautical Miles. I am not sure if non Part 107 (recreational) pilots can fly at night. I can because I am licensed and am also current to the most recent test related to night flights. You don't want to get caught by the FAA flying above that 400 foot ceiling either Above Ground Level AGL or in the confines of the rule I listed above. The fines are not worth the risk. Please let me know if you have further questions. I am happy to help in any way that I can.

@RobertAnthony I meant ISO 400, sorry. At ISO 400, the screen is usually still too dark to see.

Hey Ron. If you are using automatic settings, you are going to struggle with it. I am not sure if you are asking about video or photography. I'm assuming photography because it's a Panoramic Photography video. If so, Here's my thought. I shoot fully manual all the time. So at night, for example, I am shooting the shots at either 100 or 200 ISO. My shutter speed for the shots will then be anywhere from 1/4 sec to even slower. As slow as it needs to be to properly expose the photograph. I also set the White Balance manually as well. I recently released this panorama video of downtown Orlando. If you haven't seen it, you may find it useful. It's a bit shorter in duration than the first. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaqWgJyIi8mDb9E Please let me know if you have any further questions. I am more than happy to help you.

What do I do when DJI did not make an extra folder for the panoramas? I have only the 100Media folder...
@livingwithrob10 ай бұрын
The drone sorts them into a pano folder within that main folder. It should show up in file manager when importing into Lightroom.

Thank you for the video. Do you still use light room? is that adobe light room? can you share the version or the name of the program? Every time I try to find that program I get lost with a bunch of other names?

Hi. Yes, I use Adobe Lightroom. I prefer the desktop version. I'm using the photography pack which includes Lightroom and Photoshop combined for $10 per month. I hate the fact Adobe went to membership only and I can't choose to buy it as a stand alone every few years...but it is what it is.

I have the Air 2S, but my pano's are always 1 image rather then all the separate images in a folder. I've searched thru my setting and can't seem to find anything that would offer to change that. I use a smart controller too btw.
@livingwithrob Жыл бұрын
You need to shoot in RAW-JPEG. You will then have a folder on your SD card that holds the image files.

Hi there, I just tried some panorama shots but I don't see the folder with all the individual shots in there, just a resultant JPG stitched together. Is there a setting to select keep the original RAW files?
@livingwithrob Жыл бұрын
Yes. You will need to shoot in RAW. You'll then get both and they should be in a folder called Panorama when your done. Each Panorama will have it's own folder. Check this vid. I may have gone over it in this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaqWgJyIi8mDb9E

Brand new drone operator. Did you have to apply for any waivers or clearances for to shoot these?
@livingwithrob2 жыл бұрын
No. The images in this video were shot outside of any airport controlled space. No flight approval required. However, it should be noted that any flight inside managed airspace will require FAA approval for flying. I hope that helps.

Nice video and worth watching for beginners. I was a bit disappointed with the distortion on the Air2S' wide pano though. Do you know how to completely fix it? I use the drone for real estate and I prefer the flat horizon, so I'm stuck with the jpg file unfortunately. Thanks!
@livingwithrob2 жыл бұрын
Bryan, I tested it recently. If the gimbal is set to 0 degrees, the horizon remains straight during the stitching process in lightroom. Continued success to you in your business!

Cool video! I do those wide angle panos a lot and never did I think I could edit them myself. Funny thing is when I do hyperlapses, I do edit the raw file and then batch edit the rest of the files. In the very beginning of the video when you were flying around what were your settings? I was flying over this past weekend in an area with a lot of lights and my video was still dark. I didn’t go above ISO 400 and had the shutter down to 1/60. Your night video looked really good compared to the results I’m getting with my air 2S. I’m completely Mobile when it comes to editing these days. I do have Lr Mobile but I don’t think there is an option to do panos in the app. Do you know of an app that can do it?
@livingwithrob2 жыл бұрын
Chuck, I usually shoot at 1/50 and I push the ISO as high as necessary to get the preferred outcome when night filming. Also, that was shot in DLog. I'm now shooting entirely in HLG. As far as LR mobile and panorama work...no idea! I don't know what to point you toward. I'm sorry.

I don’t like how DJI drones create fisheye photos if the gimbal isn’t at 0 degrees when you start shooting nowadays, but decent photos non the less

I've been testing this myself. In fact I too have found the curved horizon if the gimbal is not at 0 when engaging the pano photograph.

Hey Robert, great video and tutorial on DJI AIR 2S Pano Mode! Had a question! Did you use ND filters for these Pano shots on the drone?
