(Also pretty sure you mean season of gathering, the bloomburrow mythic that can destroy all enchantments and not season of growth, the M20 uncommon that lets you scry and draw cards from your creatures).

In some ways, Vorthos's performance in Valgavoth VS a Rooms Player is the pinnacle of this set. You are essentially in a race against time to get out of the dungeon he has created, using your Room's abilities to either remove him or keep him at bay while deciding which Rooms to feed him to give yourself the slim chance of escaping. It's perfectly on point and on theme at the same time! The set designer who made this little mini game needs congratulations, as in a game of 1 v 1 this is pretty cool, but in Commander it literally turns the game into Arch Enemy.

Amazing deck construction as usual, but what strikes me the most is the ability with which you play (and narrate!). It feels like you've played with it for hundreds of matches while instead it's a new one, probably done in a hurry as well due to streamer event deadlines, with a new type of card, and so many choices every single turn. You're amazing.

If more of these rooms had effects on upkeep, maybe. As it is, I don't think getting Stairs going one turn early is worth dedicating your commander to it. Especially not when the opponent will see it in the command zone and plan accordingly. Aren't there other sneakier ways to get an additional upkeep step?

@@astuteanansi4935 Not many in Arena, as far as i know, and none other in command zone which grants you some redundance for the plan. Besides, there might be more upkeep triggers from rooms in black which we haven't seen. Im not saying it's a solid plan to build a consistently winning brawl deck, but migh be fun to explore an alternative to either "beat opponent to death with aggro" or "make them scoop after controlling the heck outta them".

Great video as always. Fun to see this one play out, though it is a bit cumbersome like most alt win conditions to get it to work. What are your thoughts on Keys to the House? Just probably not good enough for a whole card, huh? Even in a rooms focused deck. More or less need the mix of removal to stay alive and rooms to progress to the win con.

Yes, the rooms are designed in a very safe way, the only real juice they have is the high combined mv for cards like ill-timed explosion

The deck was always intended to be 60 card. Looks like an extra land got added when I swapped out some basics for the new art. The decklist in the video description is correct.

@@danielstein8769 That’s definitely a simplified description of this set. You could say that BLB was magical talking animals for 5 year olds. I think horrors and ghosts and monsters is better than talking magical creatures. What I was stressing is WOTC has given up on the MTGA platform. You see the ads for MTGA and they use nothing but cool animations of cards that haven’t been legal in standard in years.

@@UndeadB3ard as someone who only plays magic on arena, I don't care about' cool animations' because I'm *not* 5 years old. Bloomburrow was a great set with good art and designs that fit the game as a whole. This set has so many art and flavor choices that are lazy and/or very on the nose that don't jive with the flavor of the game going back 30 years. I'm not over simplifying, a good chunk of this set belongs in an Un-set or supplemental collector packs/commander. I don't see how not investing time in screen clutter is giving up on the client.

Probably my least favorite deck (thematically) in the past couple years. Playing doors just feels really lame. You can't see the art and it doesn't feel thematic. Gives weird feels. At least with the Shrines deck it felt thematic?

Vaga´s ward ability is to broken at least u should be able to sacrifice lands to the ability, i l know it costs 9 mana but if can reanimate it for 4 mana with all its abilities atached to it, yes its a broken card

It is a weaker hexproof. The issue is not the ward itself, imo, but Valgaboy requiring you to sac 3 permanents. Big dudes have always been weak to removal, and also very costly to play. The demon would not win you against aggro matches, but it may win you against control. Then again, control has counterspells.

many wards that are good also hurt the opponent (burn 4, Sacrafice 3, Discard 2). These help standard a bit. But it’s a give and take. Either hexproof everything to make board wipes too optimal, or use ward to allow for some way to counteract it with single card removal. Commander can also benefit from this if your playgroup has a lot of single removal.
