The 900 can handle way hotter ground than the Monster can. When we take the VLFs out to a couple of our spots here in Nevada, my buddies Monster cant handle it. He gets frustrated and has to break out the PI or move outside of the patch. The Monster is an amazing machine but i really think the 900 tops it!

@dangold1998 morning mate cant speak for nevada soils havent been there but we have some of the hottest mineralised ground here in Australia and the gold monster handles it better than any vlf ive tested. I agree the 900 is amazing and given its multi-iq certainly will run quiter than a GM in some difficult soils

@GoldRatEngineering Wow, handles better than a PI?? Thats pretty dang good! Well keep the videos rolling in and thank you for the response!

In Nevada, due to the lower mineralization (compared to Australia), the results will seem quite similar between these models - although the Equinox 900 has a notable edge with both depth and sensitivity on small nuggets. Either machine can find the larger ones. I've seen it used by several prospectors your way. The Gold Monster was aimed at the tail end of the Sudanese Gold Rush (hence the Arabic script on the side in Red) and it's a very simple machine in some respects. I've observed comparative tests between the two here in Australia and the Equinox 900 was slightly more sensitive with smaller targets at depth when using the 6" coil (these were undug targets, not air-tests). You will always get better sensitivity with the Equinox 900 using the included 6" coil for prospecting. The Equinox is a multi-use machine that serves well as both a coin/relic machine PLUS a VLF prospecting unit. I typically run a larger Minelab VLF machine but there are times when a lightweight VLF unit is the way to go in creeks and over decomposing slate and bedrock where the smaller bits of gold are missed. Note that Gold Mode #2 on the Equinox is better for mineralized ground. Both units are simple to operate and the Equinox is simplified when in "Gold" mode. Both are VLF type detectors. It seems strange to state that the Equinox 900 is a slightly better gold machine than the Gold Monster though it costs more - but it's also a notably better nugget-hunter than the more expensive Manticore which also has a "gold/prospecting" mode. The Gold Monster is built slightly more rugged but it's at a great price point. A lot of psychology went into the color scheme and design and even the online marketing for this detector, so try to be wary of this.

Hey mate all good points i strongly disagree about the manticore i was literally at an event this weekend we had 130 prospectors detecting over three sites i went to a site i havent been to for years and popped the m8 coil on the manticore loaned my mate my gpx 6000 i got the first target in 5 minutes went around 0.3 grams about 3 inches into bedrock. The manticore showed many more targets but the red target id told me these were ferrouse and i moved on. My mate came in with the 6000 and dug 9 bits of trash. So for me havinh had an 800 for 6 years i find the manticore much better and powerful than the nox. Horses for corses. Of course everyone has a different experience in their part of the world. Sometimes it comes down to experience and a bit of luck

Where did you get the card with the gold on it.
@greedygringoprospecting69413 ай бұрын
you need to run those machines hot up the sensitivity. i have both i live in california.

Which one would you keep for gold prospecting if you could only have one ?
@GoldRatEngineering3 ай бұрын
if it was only gold prospecting definitely the gold monster

i had this same debate few years back, had no clue on which to buy. got the 900 and i love it, i do however find alot of one way signals any idea what thats about?
@GoldRatEngineering5 ай бұрын
as in you find gold targets with only one way signals? thats odd generally one way signals are ground noise
@Heapsgoodprospecting5 ай бұрын
@@GoldRatEngineering ah no i rarely find the targets! That would explain it then! So often i dig down and it disappears haha it sounds so obvious now 🤦♂️
