I'm glad to hear your 1st hand report that the 900's update made a noticeable positive difference. My Manticore's 2023 update greatly reduced iron-falsing. 😃

Can't say it really improved much after the first try. Still had a few high tone nails/screws this hunt.

Being on the east coast I found since the upgrade I get less of a false blip on the 900 especially walking north with the buildings on my west side and ocean to my east side. As my coil swings towards the buildings I use to get a garbled blip sound every now and then it has definitely quieted that down. And as you said the tones sound crisper. Still get those screws and nails in the high 90’s but hey you take the good with the bad. Nice hunt though.😊

I’ve been out a few more times since this video and I agree with you. Have you been using the new noise cancel feature? Holding down the button gives the machine more time to pick a clear setting. It seems like 2-3 cycles and it settles on a number it likes.

@@SeekandDetect No haven’t tried it yet. I will on my next hunt Friday. But I do always noise cancel before I start …..I usually do it the old way.

Hey Eric, I tried the update on my test garden and I agree the sounds seem crisper more defined. The coins I have buried on end seemed to show up better. I need to get it out to a park and give it a try now… John

Ya let me know what you think. I've been on a few more hunts since this video and it's is slightly sharper more defined responses to good targets. Still gets confused by rusty iron nails etc. Would've like to have seen that improved a bit.

only have the 900 now. doesnt seem any different. won a 1/2oz silver round. for most unusual the stainless chain and a pendant i found. (junk jewelry). dont have to work today charged up the detector. see what happens. have a good day.

I did pretty good on a straight forward hunt after the update was done and i had more targets to dig out. I think it is a good add on they gave us.. Oh yeah i have the 700 but you did well.. Happy Hunting. Peace

Nickel noises are more clear and I now find more bottle caps, and the chain I found at a '4' on my 900 was bitchin'...I just realized that I have dug fewer tent stakes this week

Have ya used vibration on any of the tone blocks yet.??.

I was for awhile, but it's not very strong. If I wore gloves I could barely feel anything. I would set up the lowest tone to vibrate just neg numbers. I have a feeling it would reduce battery life as well.

in this video I believe I had it set to zero, i have tried it at -1 and it's tough to tell much difference. I mainly hunt the beach and it's fairly clear of targets here, except for the big patches of black sand

I have not found any euro coins since the update. I don't find them here in the US very often. I do have some coins, maybe I can try it out.

What does the new -1 iron setting do?

It one more notch lower on the iron bias screen. This adjusts how sensitive the machine is to ferrous/iron targets. Higher will ignore iron, lower is more sensitive. In very trashy areas good targets can be surrounded/hidden by iron. Lowering iron bias can help this.
