Ah, that's an idea to be sure, but alas the only throne I regularly sit on is not of the royal type, so we best conjur up something more prestigious! Jokes aside, there must (or should) be some sort of award for musical educators/ambassadors ('Blues Ambassador' would be a good title for an award) I will keep an eye out as you deserve it and what you do surely makes a difference and is important. Seriously, I swear that I have been thinking about the same thing. I haven’t had time to regularly watch as often as I would like, but last night I watched several of Christian’s tutorials, and ended up thinking similar thoughts. Christians tutorials are so detailed, accurate, and authentic, that it’s hard to imagine anyone else who has been teaching Blues in such a focused, effective way. I live a couple hours north of Los Angeles, where there are just smaller, less populated cities and towns, but there are regularly scheduled Blues jam nights, and a ‘Blues Society,’ near the University, and they host more well known artists. Anyway, I’m saying that there’s a never ending interest and appreciation of the Blues everywhere, even far from the big cities, but they’re all independently doing their own things. I wish that the college I went to years ago had offered a Blues class with lessons presented the way Christian does. It would take something like a few students to start a petition at their college/university, to demand that the schools music department start a class that’s based around using Christian’s videos for teaching Blues, and some of the larger schools would have to arrange monthly Zoom visiting lectures with Christian. It could happen. College kids, get your petitions going! 🎶🥸

Well said. The options for university/college/conservatorium study are usually courses in jazz and that is all well and good. But would they offer many (or any) specialist subjects in piano blues? or cocktail piano? I am not a position to know for sure (and happy to be corrected) but I seriously doubt there are many (or even any) places that can teach these genres at this level of detail and quality. In part, this may be due to ignorance or perhaps even prejudice concerning these genres within traditional centres of music instruction? If so, I would see that as an entirely unfounded and ignorant position to hold. For example, consider how sophisticated, imaginative and innovative James Booker's playing is, and he is but one example among many that you can study here on this channel. So, perhaps the world needs 'Blues Ambassadors' so that music schools can (a) offer training in these specific musical genres and (b) offer such training in the in-depth way that is required to do these genres justice (which would often require teaching the teachers one would presume). So, yes, Christian Fuchs, Visiting Professor of Blues Piano makes perfect sense. In any event, long may this great learning resource prosper and grow. It's fantastic!

@@tbthornton5305 Agreed, it seems that we both have a pretty similar perspective on this. I recall reading years ago that several American universities have credit courses on Beatles/Beatles music. I love the Beatles, but they’re only one band, and the Blues, is of course, a multi-faceted genre, and it’s a major influence on bands like Chuck Berry, & Little Richard, who were significantly influential for the Beatles. I’m betting that it’s a matter of time for Blues to show up more in accredited courses. Anyway, as you mentioned, that meanwhile, it’s pretty great that we can learn from the ever growing collection of lessons online/KZbin from ‘Master Christian’. 🎶
