Mark, this has been most eye-opening for me. I found myself opening old images and playing with HSL and Calibration. The effect was mesmerizing.

Oh my goodness, Mark! I've been using LRC for years but have never understood the Calibration section. Your video is crystal clear and I understand it perfectly! You are a talented teacher who demonstrates the features using different examples. Thank you!

I learn a lot from your videos. But this one is really special. It's going to change how I PP in Lightroom. Thanks Mark!! The only one that didn't work for me was the last one. The sky got weird very fast. In fact all that magenta in the original photo itself was too much. I think maybe masking that portion out while making the adjustments might work.

Okay now this is a game changer ! Thank you so much for takign the time to explain and showcase this section that I never care much about in LR. That's the 2nd vid that I see of you and that's really usefull, you've got your self a new follower dear sir !

This is one of the most useful tools I have ever seen when it comes to editing landscapes. I never knew how to use the calibration sliders and you made the difference between the calibration and HSL sliders much clearer for me. I went back and redid some older photos and what a difference. Just brilliant! Thank you.

I have never used this feature, but wow, this video was a game-changer for me. I struggled with editing some fall shots from a couple of years ago, but just edited one of them in about 10 seconds. I also really appreciate you using the simple color swatches to explain this, as that helped explain editing colors better than anything else I have seen. Also, “solo mode” is amazing, so another takeaway from this video. I just subscribed and am looking forward to discovering other gems on your account.

I learned about the blue primary from a portrait photog many years ago who claimed it added a nice punch to most skin tones. I hardly ever photograph people but I've been using it for years for landscapes and boat images. Your description of the local / global results in the HSL vs primary channels is probably the best I've seen yet. Nice job.

Thanks Mark! I think the calibration tool is one of the most underrated tools in LR and I have been using it for just over a year. I think it was Pye Jirsa who first got me onto it. Before then, I never even opened it. I’ve been using it for a year and I often start my editing with it and work my way up the panels. Sometimes, using Callibration, Colour Grading, HSL and the Curve tool, including sometimes one of or all of the red, green and blue curves, as well as the black & white curve, I can edit a photograph and not have to touch the Basic panel. I used to always start with the Basic panel; now I never do. Since using Calibration I haven’t once touched the vibrancy or saturation sliders.

I've been using photoshop for years and I stumbled on this video today. I am not that familiar with Lightroom and have allways used Photoshop and layers to do my editing. When I watched this video I thought I wonder if the same rules apply to RAW in Adobe. Well Mark I have to give you huge KooDoo's for this as you just opened up a brand new avenue that I have not really explored in RAW. This works just the same in RAW and Lightroom. I have tried it out on a number of images in RAW and you even have me looking back on pictures I edited years ago. Thank you Sir...

Excellent video. I started using the calibration tool when you demonstrated it in a previous video, as I'd always avoided it thinking it sounded a little too technical. It completely changed the way I approach colour in my editing. My primary use for this tool is to get good separation between my hues in a photograph so that the individual elements in become clearer. I find this is extremely useful for scenes where there is a lot of the same colour e.g. woodland, where all the greens can merge into one indistinguishable blob. For me the hue sliders really bring out the differences between individual plant species that would otherwise be lost if some tweaking wasn't done. Thank you for yet another gem of a video!
