I went for the Platinum Trophy in Monster Hunter World and it was an exhilarating as well as an exhausting experience.

mhw because ive got about 800 hours on it and im still not even halfway through the trophy list 😭in my defense i played for about 300 hours on pc as well so that was time i wasnt working towards trophies and i was already maybe 400 hours in by the time i realized i could actually get the plat and started focusing on it(also ive done new games multiple times because i keep not playing for a month or two...or more and when i come back im like "well damn guess i should new game so i can de-rust instead of going straight back into some of the hardest monsters in game!" and then i have to replay the entire story before i can work on any other trophies BUT im not doing that anymore lmfao)

Sometimes I forget that Final Fantasy had a crossover with them. I remember my first time playing and then randomly finding a cactuar, lol. I was so confused.

The interesting thing is if you hit Cactuar when its close to a monster, it proceeds to fire needles which can do a decent amount of damage

A cactuar killed the first barroth for me... I did about 300 damage and then he ran into the cactus who broke all of his parts and killed him in about 20 seconds

For future reference, when capturing the rare endemic life, Petricanths (the fish) can be obtained next to Camp 8 in the Elder's Recess, so you can rotate between there and the Vale. Additionally, for the Downy Crake, the Master Rank event quest called Skyward Snipers guarantees a pack of them spawn on the back of a Grandfather Mantagrell.

At 19:15, to get more investigations of a specific monster, you can follow it around the map and pick up it's tracks. It's a good way to also get better reward investigations. Doing this with tempered monsters will give a higher chance for investigations with purple rewards. Go to the research center filter for investigations of the monster you want and turn on the ones you want for that monster, turn off and delete ones you don't or ones with poor rewards. You can only have 75 active at a time but you can have up to 400 inactive, so you likely have ones for that monster that are inactive and not showing at the quest board.

I wish that was the case for Kushala Daora it was one of the few monsters I didn't get many investigations for because it just seems to sit around most of the time. I ended up resorting to the SOS method because I found it easier. I also found the Tailrider Safari could get you investigations (which I didn't mention in the video). Good information, hopefully someone who is going for the Platinum will see this!

I remember when I grinded for the plat. Black Diablos' mini crown BY ITSELF took longer than any other monster's crown of any kind, with only Kushala's large crown coming close. Black Diablos' mini crown took me 3 straight weeks of hunting and 98 hunts before getting it. I spent quite literally the entirety of October 2019 grinding for Black Diablos investigations and then hunting her. It was awful and I'd do it again in an instant. (I got it first try, first hunt on an alt account which made me take a break but that was something else.)

If you are planning on doing the iceborne trophy and you want to capture the special wild life over there remember to eat specific food to get an ability so they appear easier.

You got so lucky with the gold crowns. When I did it I had to kill multiple monsters over a 100 times and then Kirin took 550 kills to get both crowns.

My goal is to platinum this before Wilds arrives. I've been meaning to return to it for ages, and with Monster Hunter being one of my favourite franchises it make sense. However I am dreading the gold crowns, the only reason I brought the DLC was so that I could get better armour and weapons that would hopefully make the grind a bit easier for the base monsters.

I got really lucky with zinogre I did the 6 star Mr quest for the ore for steam works and I got the largest and smallest gold crown back to back haha

@@extreme_primus6884You have a 50% chance of getting either a large gold crown or a small gold crown on that quest, so it’s basically guaranteed. There are lots of other events that can guarantee you crowns too

There are several quests with either guaranteed or high chances for crowns that can help tick them off. If you have Iceborne, G-Rank/Master rank quests have higher chances of crown monsters appearing. That's how I ended up finally getting some of the crowns I still needed in base World.

Trophies or awards as they are called in-game in other monster hunter games…they are really tough. Honestly the whole crown hunt never felt very fun to me, cus you probably get every material you’d ever need before having the crowns. Also weird thing is that the big bad hard boss monsters almost never have any.

I would say the most frustrating is the wildlife achievement... from the weather to the time of the day... OMG. At least the gold crowns were better with events. But it was the most rewarding platinum I had.

I'm honestly surprised that over a 10th of the players have that platinum. Like, even in popular shorter single-player games I usually see that percentage marker go down to the tenths or even hundredths.

This took me 800hrs to get, played from the release of the game. The platinum wasn't my goal until I had a few crowns left. Lava fish (Large) was the longest crown for me to get.

Do Bully's (Canis Canem Edit) Platinum. It's more of a grind than a difficult one. (also one trophy is for doing 200 wheelies on a bike, just push the analog stick back to do it)

I was wondering how you would get the guild card achievement since servers have like 6 people tops and people rarely accept guild cards then I saw how you got it and felt cheesed since I got no friends. The same thing may work if I do it with someone who has auto accept on so I’ll give that a try.

Good luck, throughout my many SOS join and requests I didn't get many auto guild cards, I think it is because the setting is turned off by default. Perhaps sending a message saying you would like their guild cards for the trophy could do the trick?

I wouldnt say its tedious, only if u specificly go for the trophys. In my 900 Hiurs of World before i got to Iceborne i pretty much got most of them without issue. U get most of them just as u play over time. Once u got all Armor and all Weapons u should have most of it.

Getting the platinum Trophy is easy with World, here is why: Fall in love with MH games as a kid. Be addicted to World and wait till Rise comes out. Spend roughly 1.5k hours in the game. Profit.

Any tips for getting the gold crowns? Small and large. I hunted some monsters over a 100 times and still didnt get the right crown😔

Search if the monsters you are hunting have any increased odds in the quests. Make sure you're doing the investigations with the correct reward slots. You can use the measurement strategy if you don't want to defeat it each time. You can use SOS flares if you run out of investigations. There is not a lot to it other than just repeatedly hunting the same monster till you get the crown.

For the trophy in which you need to get a lot of research on many monsters is it all of the Hr monsters and do you need to max out the research stat?

If I recall it is only Level 6 research level for World and the 28 monsters, excludes Lunastra and Deviljho. I think an easier way to look at it is on your guild card. It would the the first four hunting pages well at least it is for me.

I think Rathian and Rathalos are in one of the 12% boosted quests. For Kushala Daora, I had to use SOS flares until I eventually got it because I kept running out of investigations for it.

The crown grind is absolutely abysmal. The fact they don't have relative equivalent event quests that PlayStation has for PC or Xbox. It's straight up insulting when hunting for high rank Deviljho.

Crown hunting was the most annoying thing i had to do in the game, with Teo as my most hated Monster in the base game, if there wasn't the Quest that introduced Luna in the game that gives you a big Gold Crown Teo to 100% i would have gone mad.

@findtheshiny Sadly I surrendered at 80%... . That AFFLICTED MONSTER INVESTIGATION trophy is freaking INSUFFERABLE. Also the Spent 3000 coins trophy is freaking annoying me. Not so Fun fact,, Most Hunters leave MH Rise, they all back to MHW Iceborne, therefore it makes the afflicted monster hunts even WORSE. 😬

Ouch, I feel you there. Kirin was certainly a stubborn one for me. Funnily enough though once I started hunting G-Rank/Master versions of Kirin instead of high rank I got the crowns in no time at all (turns out crowns have better odds in appearing in G-Rank/Master level quests).
