Mindhandler is also a uim that made a handful of videos on 99 1 at a time, though he hasnt posted in a while. looks like he did 99 magic with arceuus books then used that combat to do 99 hp with pest control. ultimately its your series and you should do what sounds like the most fun and wont burn you out. at least combining hp with another combat makes sense if you're not interested in a pest control/ soul wars grind.

@MapleSirYupАй бұрын
Im mostly on the fence about hitpoints if anything as I do wanna try and keep this as "one skill at a time" as I can, but I do understand it'd take such a long time to get hitpoints done
@stellabiderman4056Ай бұрын
I'm going to give another vote for "unlock hitpoints automatically whenever you unlock a combat skill." I would not require you to cape it immediately though, and just make progress as you go. With respect to smithing, the best way to do it without the Blast Furnace is Giant's Foundry. Giant's Foundry allows you to use bars (bronze are buyable at Shantay Pass) but also melt down armor and weapons. Buying out the stock of battles Bob's Axes and using it at Giant's Foundry is net profit for all metal types. 3 oak logs are required for the quest, which are a problem. The wiki makes it seem like you can't get oak logs except through woodcutting, wintertodt (FM), or monster drops in Morytania. Note that it lists ents as dropping them but you don't actually get them as normal drops and need to "cut the dead ent" and receive WC xp. Still, if you unlock WC or FM first it's a great way to do Smithing.
@MapleSirYupАй бұрын
Yea the general consensus is to allow hitpoints and take it from there so that it opens things up a bit more, but that's some good tips for Smithing I'll definitely have to keep this in mind

Fire making is 100% doable and worth doing. If you have someone else doing the Solo wintertodt method, you can leech and just relight the fire for exclusively fire making xp. You don't need to chop a single Bruma log. I've done it, it's possible, and you would still get more permits an hour than doing mass wintertodt.
@MapleSirYupАй бұрын
That could work assuming I consistently have somebody to leech off of hahaha
@rushmonk3545Ай бұрын
Full meme pushing wheat in puro gives strength. I think you should allow for passive hp xp with rolling the other combat skills. A compromise would be with a combat (preferably consider allowing only strength/range/magic) over level them to the point you also hit 99 hp

Also, for phone watchers, maybe consider scaling your UI in runelite since interfaces are indistinguishable on mobile viewing.

Smithing is fairly doable via hopping and repairing the struts at MLM. iirc you can get up to 40-50k exp per hour at higher levels (gives 1.5 times your level per successful repair). I dont recall if there is a minimum requirement to do the repairs, but you can always buy bronze bars from Shantay to do the earlier levels if needed - wouldnt need too much cash, so should be doable with basic no-exp money making like silk trading.

@MapleSirYupАй бұрын
Oooooh, now we're talking
@stellabiderman4056Ай бұрын
@@MapleSirYupIf 3 oak logs are obtainable, you should do Smithing via Giant's Foundry. You can buy weapons and armor from shops around the game and use them as inputs to the mini game in place of bars. If you buy the right items it's net profit (pretty good profit even, at lower levels). Off the top of my head I think Bob's Axes is the best shop to buy out, all the way until adamant. The quest does require 3 oak logs to complete and the wiki doesn't have any spawns listed. You can obtain them from Wintertodt (FM) or trees (WC). Probably doesn't make sense to lock smithing if struts are a viable way to get 99, but if you unlock FM or WC before Smithing this could be a good way to do it.
@HaerdalasАй бұрын
@@MapleSirYup I had discounted Giants Foundry for some reason. Yeah, if you can manage the logs that is also a good option. In addition to the pure bronze method discussed above, I've found you can just about indefinitely sustain a mithril/adamant mix by buying battleaxes and warhammers at the karuulm weapons shop, which is, according to the wiki, is about 200k/hour (not counting the time spent hopping to buy materials, admittedly)

I might be wrong (did not do any factchecking) but I believe Strength should technically be possible by pushing through the wheat barrier thingies at Puro Puro. @MapleSirYupАй бұрын
I've learned blast furnace is actually possible so I'd just have to do this until level 30 I think so honestly it might be the play if it comes down to it
@Johan-ct3xgАй бұрын
Also I think barbarian fishing is another possible way to train strength, after having both 99 fishing and 99 agility. It looks like you don't need any requirements to start that part of barbarian training to unlock it, you only need levels in fishing and agility plus 15 strength, so if you could get to level 15 then you should be able to do it all the way till 99. However once again these rates look very slow so I feel like your best bet to unlock combat is just by getting magic high enough to the point where you can train it with non-combat spells. But yeah that theoretical way of training strength like that would be way into the future anyway since it's locked behind agility and fishing, definitely expect someone else to have thought of a better way before this option would even be on the table

There are absolutely zero requirements to get to Keldagrim and start The Giant Dwarf quest. You would only need the skill requirements to finish the quest which isn't needed to get to Blast Furnace. The real issue is you need to somehow get to 30 strength without hp in order to start pumping at the furnace
@MapleSirYupАй бұрын
Wait actually? If the wiki is wrong about this and Strength is actually doable that'd be an insane unlock to get
@ChipstopherАй бұрын
@MapleSirYup well, I'm not entirely sure what wiki page you're looking at, but the page for Blast Furnace says you only need to start The Giant Dward and the page for The Giant Dwarf does has little disclaimer text next to each skill requirement that says "(boostable) (not required to start)" and I know that's accurate cause I go to Keldagrim on new accounts all the time. Again the only real issue is strength pumping at Blast Furnace has a 30 strength requirement so you you'd have to lamp up to 30 (unless of course you combine hp with strength)

Sorry about that! I only realized after recording everything that I screwed up, and I think I got it figured out so while next episode will still have some scuffed parts, it should get better a little into it and hopefully be good to go from there

You put best "case" scenario not best "cape" scenario and i'm dissapointed

Damn I wish I thought of that, that's amazing

Honestly your lack of general game knowledge is quite worrying

I touched on it briefly in episode 0 but I've only been playing since around the start of this year, and I've got only a couple months worth of experience playing members, so I do have a lot to learn but i think that makes it more fun

An entire episode of hunter and not a single Hunter Contract completed? Lame!

@ genuinely not correct. Go check out Settled’s formula. There is a reason he is so popular. He always gives the end goal of the episode right in the beginning so the crowd can enjoy the build up and the success and even the failures. If the whole point of the episode is “lol idk, just see what happens. Welp nothing happened, see ya next week” you are going to struggle a bit more and slow the growth of your channel.

Settled is an amazing content creator this is true, I however, am not Settled. The point/goal of the episode was simply to see what skill I unlocked first, and make some progress on it so it felt rather fitting that getting to the guild and unlocking a large portion of content relating to the skill was a good ending

@ I don’t think anyone called you Settled. He was just an example. Many of the successful OSRS KZbinrs use the similar pattern. Settled is just one of the most blatant and obvious users of it. Obviously this is a VERY long series so you need to do what you can to get people invested in the journey. Stating specifically what the end goal of the episode is near the beginning helps us get invested. “Today we’re to grind and hopefully get… the full hunter guild outfit…” or whatever. You are taking us along for the journey and including us in the plans. It’s similar to why many creators say “WE did it” when they get something instead of “I did it” Just food for thought. Ponder on how you can help the audience feel a part of it instead of feeling like a spectator. And with that mentality in mind it might be worth watching other creators and see if you can catch how they do it for some inspiration.

I mean you're not wrong, its just without knowing what skill I was getting I didn't go into things with any kind of plan or end goal but its definitely something I'll keep in mind
