When configuring BGP on loopback, don't we use IGP for reachability?
@nabarajpoudel42724 ай бұрын
thats what i was wondering , previously we are told to use IGP for reachability but why not here.
@nagarajusadula45074 жыл бұрын
sir where is the one more lap video using 2 server did you uploaded or not searched lot haven't seen could please share me asap
@nabarajpoudel42724 ай бұрын
I think like i have missed the whole piont. Since we need to config IGP for reachability for IBGP , whats the point of using IBGP. Its just the extra line of configuration .
@SIKANDARshaik4 ай бұрын
You’re right that IGP is used to ensure reachability between BGP peers, but the key point of using iBGP lies in its ability to handle the exchange of routing information within an autonomous system (AS). While IGP ensures reachability, iBGP allows you to efficiently share external routing information throughout your AS, ensuring that all routers have a consistent view of external routes. Using iBGP, particularly with route reflectors as discussed in the video, helps in scaling your network by reducing the number of required connections compared to full mesh iBGP. It’s not just an extra configuration but a critical step in managing larger and more complex networks. Hope this clears it up!

Good overview. I do wish there were more tutorial videos where the route reflector is not placed in the data path (out of band).

If the RR scenario is not chosen, why there is a need to make a full mesh neighborship? Doesn't it suffice that every iBGP router makes a neighborship to iBGP routers who are connected to eBGP routers?
@rogeriosouza92884 жыл бұрын
I think you are misunderstanding things. Let me try to clarify, you need full mesh inside the same AS (iBGP). That's because of the split horizon mechanism BGP implements, as he explained before. But that's not good for several reasons, so a RR can be used to decrease the number of neighborship/tcp establishments. So, eBGP does not come into picture in this case. For eBGP, AS-PATH is used as a loop prevention mechanism.

In Pri R2 you will mention that Sec R4 is Client. In Sec R4 you will not mention Pri R2 as Client, simply peer it. In R4 you will mention other routers R1 & R3 as Client.

its also use for small networks bocz in large network every client router is must connected with server to enable communication between 2 or more clients as per this video.but assume i had 50 routers connected in different places out of this 50 i make 1 router as a server remaining 49 as clients.that means remaining 49 directly connected to server its expensive.any suggestions pls

@kishorekumar84367 жыл бұрын
+ krishna, By Default Split Horizon is running between IBGP router,so you need to advertise the IBGP route as RR client.
@mohiuddinshahbaaz6 жыл бұрын
You need IGP protocol to reach from one RRServer to another, also if you are making neighbor ship with loop-back interface.

why remote-as is used in most of the bgp config i am new to it can explain it please
@nilashishchakraborty39836 жыл бұрын
remote-as is used to identify whether to use IBGP or EBGP. If the remote-as is same, IBGP will be used, else, EBGP. You can watch all the videos from the starting to understand the concept.
@baluforu93056 жыл бұрын
You have well explained this concept. But a question raising for me is Q: In R1, we are receiving the 30 n/w through RR with nexthop 2.2.2.2(it is directly connected on R3) in such case how my R1 node will reach 30 network ? how we can change next hop address ? i think we can't modify RR update. Thanks i advance
