We passed you on this mooring - not long after you moored up. We were part way through a long 12 hour day back to our home mooring due to a broken alternator. But just seeing you deserved a ditty. We called a cheery ‘Hi’ to Heidi as we went cruising by A cheery Heidi ‘Hi’ came back in reply Which raised our spirits to carry on And tackle the flight at Atherstone We couldn’t stop for a chat and a tipple As we had a busted part on Ripple! When I chop onions always stick a tea spoon in mouth, then when cooking add oil and a tea spoon of sugar, spoon out of mouth and get on with my dinner. Thanks Heidi, another great video. I had some shenanigans going on last week, so when I moored up at Sutton Cheney, one was bushed! I tied off, took the dog out, came back to my boat and was out like a light. Next morning, had some chugging to do, set off at 6am and the 2nd boat on the 2 day mooring was yours… broke me.

Hi Heidi and Bonnie, It made me wince seeing you get knocked about by over hanging branches! I'm a CRT volunteer and we've just been along our stretch of the Llangollen cutting back the overhangers along the towpath. We can't get to the far side because we'd need a boat. There's nothing says that you and fellow boaters can't do a bit of snipping yourselves if you've got time! Great vids, keep up the good work xx

Ahoy! Yes the problem is though as a single handed boater its very difficult to control the boat on the offside as it’s very shallow and stretch to use tools to cut the branches at the same time …. It’s the same when trying to moor … I can’t risk jumping through a huge bush not knowing how the towpath is when trying to hold 18 tonnes of boat 😂😂 All these willow trees are in peoples gardens so I presume it’s their responsibility maybe ?? Thank you for all the wonderful work you do though I bet it’s never ending 🤣🏴‍☠️

Morning Hidi and bonnie, loved the Vlog, we were doing that bit of the Coventry last week. If you havnt already done it lock 3 in the flight leaks badly, we got grounded there!!!!! As I messaged last week, the water levels are really low at the top, we have a deep draft and are currently stuck!!!! We need to get turned around and come back down the locks to Glascote to have our bottom blacked 😂. It is lovely for dogs on a boat as they get a different smell and back yard every day our Ella has a blast sniffing and barking at everything. Please kindly allow me to suggest that you put a rope on it. Just to have a sling for carrying it like a handbag over your shoulder. So your hands are always free to grab the lock ladder. Even better would be to wear the sling diagonal so that it cannot slip off your shoulder accidentally. 3) I'm always happy to see that you enjoy your life very much. O would really like to help you making it even better = to spare the money for the barber shop, you could let comb your hair from those willow tree branches. Next time simply don't duck and better not wear glasses. 😁 ;-) 4) I was impressed how easy and well the old technique works. Additionally the brass greaser looks simply great. I won’t put a rope on the windlass as unfortunately so many lock accidents where the rope or lanyard gets caught on ladders or in the lock gear / lock paddles …. I’ll just have to keep a magnet handy and try to be careful 😃🏴‍☠️

I strongly recommend that you devise a way to attach a looped rope (might have to use a couple of band clamps to very firmly attach the rope) to the wrench (windlass) through which to put your hand and wrist to ensure that you don’t loose that valuable piece of equipment. If I’ve done a lousy job of explaining this, I’m sure that one of your colleagues can help you.

Another great vlog. Why is it that, when you need some help, there is nobody around, but when you don't need the help (or want to try out a new piece of equipment) these is so much help you don't get to do what you wanted?!? Nice trick with the stern grease tube. I learnt something there. Every day can be a school day, if you are prepared to learn.
