Mark I have a speed lite which I am using for my macro shots. I am trying to angle to speedlite to the side to make it look like "Light " is coming into the shot (all practice for processing in LR) Am so glad you said dont let light shine directly on subject as I had not thought of that and can see the difference in my shots.

excellent post mate! so well explained! question: in the pic of the lion, (at th end of the vieo...0 when you mentioned you exposed for the brighter part of the fur. What did you use: spot meter or evaluative? (canon uses here ...😂 ) Thanks!

Thanks so much for the comment! I used spot metering for that lion fur. It nice to have that tiny area on spot metering for tricky scenarios like that.
