How to find a wholesaler when starting out

I have a couple questions. Can I make my own custom pieces to sell if im still working at a jewelry store? (Kay jewlers, any other jewelry store) Would the employers allow me to make my own pieces to sell? How hard would it be to get a business loan for a jewelry business? Typically how long does it take to become a master jeweler? What are the best pieces to make that I can profit from early on?

Small pieces are best to start with. It can take years to become a master jewler. Its a good trade to learn as well. But it's not really conducive to a person selling it. I'm starting my own line so ive done all this research. The cost of manufacturing compared to what you will be charging is more then enough to pay them. You can start with as little as 2000 bucks and start selling on eBay. Banks don't like to do loans for jewelry buisness. Because of how the business is so easy to wash money. So that would be hard. But you dont really need a bank loan. If you have good credit you can get a personal loan for 3k. Thats enough to start. But first what do you want to do sell or make. Few do both but I'm absolutely sure some do.
