I do shoot trap with a Browning Superposed that was made in 1960 on a trap shooting team. It has never had one issue and it was my great grandpa’s gun. I’ve shot in the 90s every time and it has 26” barrels. I love it so much and when I take it to a competition and shoot it a lot of old guys are impressed and are happy to see it being used.

@@riversgunkingdom5360 Well I’m about, 92 if I had to give an average. It does me good see that there are people who still respect things of that quality. It may not cost nearly as much as the expensive trap guns but it still compares favorably with a gun that costs $30,000. Nothing goes wrong and they shoot great and it holds up to its promise of lasting forever.

@@garrettthompson4919 Thanks for telling all of us this and this is something that should be remembered. I only know this because I was lucky enough to have a father who showed me what quality in firearm is all about. He would be 97 years old now and I still miss him. Thank you again! River

I have my Dad's superpower 1958. It has fixed choke barrels 30 inches. The chokes are modified on the under and full on the over. He used it to shoot everything. If I were to use it it would be for trap and if I hunted. Which I don't to often. I would definitely use it for duck and pheasants. I use the citori cx white and the xs skeet for skeet and Trap. John Moses BROWNING was a unbelievably smart man. Now I never shot a Kohler or a Kreigoff but at this point I don't see any reason to spend $10k + when what John Moses Browning can give you for $2k. A consistent, reliable and accurate shotgun

Hi John, You're absolutely right not spending the money for those more expensive shotguns! Browning made his guns affordable for just about anyone with the desire to hunt or enjoy sporting clays and his guns are just as great if not better. Thanks very much for sharing your story with all of us and thank you for watching! River

Mine is a 59 skeet model. I shoot skeet with it regularly and took it pheasant hunting in South Dakota this year. Limited easily each day.

Thanks for the video. I shoot American and International Skeet, Five Stand, Sporting Clays, and a little bit of Bunker at my local club. My primary gun these days is a 725 with 31 inch barrels. It's a good solid gun that works well for me. The other two guns that I shoot a fair amount are a modified 64 Superposed Lightning Trap and a 37 Superposed Trap that's as it came from the factory. The 64 gun came to me as a basket case of bad refinishing but with good mechanicals. The chokes are thirteen thousand each barrel with long forcing cones. It's a decent across the course do anything gun and the top lever still sits right of center. The 37 gun was ordered with non standard stock dimensions as well as other options. That one is choked Imod/Full. It is a fantastic piece of kit. I use it primarily on the bunker layout but have loaded spreaders for when I want to shoot it on the clays course. Both Superposed guns have 30 inch barrels and are quite light by modern competition gun standards. One small thing you may want to consider with yours is to clip a coil off each ejector spring. The later Superposed guns went to a one piece ejector that over time could develop cracks. This was due to how powerful the ejector springs are on these guns. The earlier Superposed guns have a two piece design and aren't susceptible to the issue.

Thank you for sharing that information. I will bring that up with my gunsmith and see what he suggests. Thanks for letting me know, it's always good to stay on top of protecting firearms from damage. Thank you for watching! River

@@riversgunkingdom5360 I learned about the newer ejector issue from one of the videos posted here by Arts Gun shop. Art Issacson is a long time gunsmith specializing in repair and restoration of Browning firearms. Before hanging out his shingle he was a gunsmith in Brownings service department for years. Many years ago he nitrided the receiver of a Remington 3200 that I owned.

Very similar to you , I come from a hunting background so shoot gun down pretty much all the time . I find it doesn't really affect my scores and I shoot for fun anyway. I use a 30" Blaser F3 for clays , so a bit on the heavy side , for hunting I use a Beretta silver pigeon 20 bore , just nicer to carry about and use. Greetings from Scotland.

I have a 1953 Superposed that I have owned for about 13 years. It has had a complete restoration done just after I bought it by Art Issacson in Missouri who is one of the best in the business. I have shot one round of skeet with it but it has been in the safe ever since. Is it smart to shoot it and just hold onto it ?
