Gary’s a limited hangout. He’s on the board of a company privatizing space discoveries, he is not disclosure, he is running cover. He takes you places which go nowhere…. In time you will know this to be true, but right now you will deny it.

They are seriously discussing things for which there is no good data or evidence. Not going to make any progress this way. They will talk forever and never learn anything new. They need to go get some data. Go get some evidence. And keep their mouth shut till they have it because this is nothing but speculation

Dear Ryan, a few weeks ago i sat with my mother who was elderly and we listened to your interview on the Lex Fridman podcast. She has never displayed an interest in anything sci fi before but we both listened intently to you. The next day she passed away in her sleep. I want to thank you for a very prescious evening and for your talk. I can't remember the last time my mother and i had spent such a lovely evening together. We bonded more that night than any other time i can recall. Thank you Sir. I wish you and your family only the good things in life. I'm English and live in England but i would also like to thank you for your service. If more people were like you in this world, it would be a much better place to live. Thank you.

Are you aware that until last year the only role mainstream scientists played publicly when it came to the topic of UFO/Aliens was to ridicule or discredit anyone making any attempt to get to the truth or said they witnessed it? Science, scientists and especially colleges and universities should not get a clean slate, instant access and exclusivity by whitewashing their past in this topic as if they have not always been a negative influence.

@Merged Podcast Buddy on minute 36:44 he claims not having time to go and pick up in Fresno the material. Is it a big deal, if you "Ryan" "can do it for him" and report by video, on the full story, how you meet the person in Fresno. And bring it to Gary, and even perhaps record how Gary puts it into the special microscope in Standford?

It's very telling how when Garry gets involved in the conversation, he continually refers to every event's objects as "craft", specifically. I've seen other interviews where he's reluctant to even say that other civilizations could visit at all. He kind of changes his tune depending on how comfortable he feels with the interviewer. It's very clear that he wants to maintain as much scientific integrity as he can, while his own personal beliefs (or rather, hunches) go way beyond what he's ready to talk about. Which is a good thing, we need more open minded people who dare to speculate. If scientists didnt speculate, we still wouldnt know if Black Holes existed. That was all speculation and hypothesis until we got the first true image of one.

One thing I'd like to mention, though, is that I stead of being so focused on their technology and how we can benefit from trying to copy it to the exclusion of all else, why think more or also about the being whom this tech belongs to and if we might earn their respect to the point that they may begin to collaborate with us. This is great what Dr. Nolan is doing in the scientific community. He is looking at things in a way that sparks innovation. If it doesn’t end up being something exotic the data acquisition and the ability for them to share information pushes science further. This is what I always thought they should be doing, jumping in and analyzing this stuff and just putting down facts about it’s components and further understanding things about material science. Just spending time working on some of this stuff that is using something common, but maybe composed in a unique way could bring about changes in how we design things just because they find efficiency in how things are composed. Also developing better sensors and having people who have a higher education and able to perform all the research that is needed.

Hi Mr Graves. I've been following this topic for 25 years, since a professor of mine at University put me onto it. I've also been following you. I'm very glad you're doing this podcast. I hope it further encourages pilots, scientists and other witnesses to feel less of a stigma in engaging with the matter and describing their experiences. I still feel there is an element of doublespeak involved here. "Officially", the government is opening up about the topic. But evidence tends to indicate there is longstanding, deep knowledge about it within the government, which remains withheld, even actively shielded, and nothing has shifted about that. It may be inaccurate to use the word "government" there; whoever is in on this knowledge may operate outside of the Constitution, such that in fact they are not really part of what the visible, as-defined-in-Dictionary "government". If that is the case, it likely presents an even bigger problem than confronting the existence of intelligent "Others". We are always our own worst enemy, it seems!

I’ve posted my experience before but I figured this is a good place to repost it. I’m glad that the stigma is going away and people are able to share their experiences without being ridiculed. I witnessed the Phoenix Lights in 1997 and I will never forget that night. My brother and I were up on the mountain across the street from our house because it was the night of the Halle-Bopp comet and we wanted to get the best view possible. If you are familiar with Phoenix,we were on 24th street and Shea Blvd. My brother was facing NW and I was facing SE because we didn’t know what part of the sky the comet was going to be visible in. My brother says “WTF is that “and when I turned around I seen this V shaped formation of lights coming towards us. ,It moved very slowly maybe 20-30 mph. It’s difficult to judge speed and distance at night but as it got closer I seen the biggest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,to this day. It was a gunmetal grey/black color and it had 3 lights on each bottom side of its “wings” and a larger amber colored one at the tip. It was completely silent until the left “wing “ was directly above us and then we heard but mostly felt a buzzing/humming sound like that off a power line transformer. We felt it in our whole body as if it was applying some sort of force onto us. It’s difficult to explain because I have nothing to compare it to. It was about a football field above our heads and when we were looking at it we noticed that it had some sort of distortion around it like when you pump gas into your car and the fumes distort the air around the nozzle. But we could still make out the craft pretty well. It was such a ominous feeling because the size of this craft was unbelievable. I can’t stress enough how massive this craft was. People that seen it from the streets said that it was a mile across from wingtip to wingtip and I would easily agree. The streets here in Phoenix are setup on a N to S and W to E grid, like Las Vegas is. Every major intersection is one mile. Just for reference the tallest building on earth is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai at 2,722 feet. A mile is 5,270 feet. I’ve been on a aircraft carrier before and I lived in Virginia Beach and would drive by the Norfolk Navy base a few times a week and would see 2-4 carriers docked in their spots. You could of put 3-3.5 carriers on each side of this craft. It was insanely massive. It glided through the sky heading SE and when it went over Squaw Peak mountain we lost site of it. I will never forget what I seen that night. I can still close my eyes and picture that craft to this day and that happened 25 years ago. I was 19 years old then, I wasn’t a 10-12 year old kid with some massive imagination . I only told my parents and my best friend because I knew that they would believe me. Plus it was on the news a day later. My brother to this day doesn’t want to talk about it. I think that it really freaked him out. He never told anyone. I don’t know what it was or who made it but when it was directly above us something told me that it wasn’t from here. I just don’t believe that we have anything like that especially in 1997. Thousands of people witnessed this craft that night. I still look up into the night sky every night hoping to see something like that again.

So glad to see this podcast! Really enjoyed this first interview and am looking forward to many more! I have had my own experience with a UAP here in Oregon back in 2014 or 2015, although I have no documentation to back it up, but I do know there were other witnesses, only one which I knew personally. I’m looking forward to finding out about more actual events and any scientific evidence that people might have and bring forward. It’s about time that we (as in anybody or any governments or departments or officials,) quit hiding anything we know, whether out of fear of being ridiculed or put down or fear of what we might find out or skepticism from those who don’t want to admit that there are things we don’t know or that maybe, just possibly, there are other beings that either have existed or do exist now and what we might learn from or about them. No more burying our heads in the sand like an ostrich. No more fantasy stories or scary monsters of imaginary fantasies. I’m just seeking to know the truth, the facts, and deal with whatever the reality is.

Saw your appearance on Koncrete Podcast, where I recall you made mention of Dr. Nolan. I'm hearing his tone of resolve in getting to the bottom of this, and his idea that the pushback on his approach to the matter is only galvanizing his efforts. I can't laud this mentality enough. Kudos to Dr. Nolan, and kudos to you for creating this forum for such guests.

I’m a big supporter of both of these gentlemen. We need more professionals to participate in serious, sober, and evidence based investigations into this topic. This could be an answer to one of the biggest questions humanity has ever had. And so many people just can’t be bothered to care. We really need to change that. There really is no subject more important than who/what technologically superior civilization seems to be sharing this planet with us.

I have watched many interviews with Professor Gary Nolan and each time I am left with an ever-growing positive impression of his contribution to this topic and to science. I listened intently and only really found two points within the discussion I would maybe criticise and/or question. At 1.35.50 it was commented that at Stamford there will be a meeting of engineers and the Ufologists will be kept away. I have to say I think that there is a huge level of humility needed by the scientific community that needs to be realised/considered. Gary is now confirming a view I made on KZbin over 3 years ago (when the documentary Phenomenon was released), that research establishments will probably look to see if there are opportunities for funding and branches of research because they can hide behind the legitimacy provided by a New York Times article and the announcement from NASA that they will look into the UAPs. But the scientific establishment need to feel the shame, and the collective responsibility we must all feel, for the dismissive ridicule directed at those that told the truth. I think it would be a polite and a correct gesture to offer invites to such people as Richard Dolan, Robert Salas, David Fravor and others to such meetings. These are people that have also put themselves on the line and put pressure on the Government for years and they must not be shunned. The scientific community has shunned their view for its lack of evidence (data) whilst at the same time the scientific community was refusing to collect data. It would be wrong to now shun them for not being scientists/engineers now that the scientific community has taken note of the phenomena. At this time, maybe it is NOT the Universities, Government or NASA we need to listen to in order to develop an understanding (because they are too busy covering their backs and trying to make themselves look good), but instead we just need to PAUSE………and watch the clips and read the statements made by airline pilots, air force pilots, civilians, school children, astronauts, police... and acclaimed Harvard Psychologist's (Doctor Mack). It is within these peoples statements that we will find the truth and can develop an understanding of the events over the last 70 years. The scientists are so very late to the discussion and need to recognise that they need a semblance of humility as it is them that has been virement in their ridicule and it is their absence from the discussion that has been deafening. This brings me to the second point I must criticise and/or question (1.27.40). Seemingly, Governments have allowed humankind to be deceived and for us to live our lives based on a falsehood. It has also been permissible to discredit individuals that have had UFO experiences - or use bullying tactics to keep them quiet. Hiding a reality from humankind is wrong on every level and there is no valid argument for this to be kept quiet because no matter how frightening or wonderful the truth is, the truth must prevail so that humankind can move forward. How can philosophers shape a way forward for humankind if they are basing comments, or philosophising, without being given the whole truth. Where do all professors/lecturers stand if their teachings are wrong and known by others with secret information to be wrong? The inefficiency of wasted time is illogical kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpbUZ5KmaZyaa5Y [In every revolution, there's one man/woman with a vision]. It is time for those discussing this topic to stop saying there could be a credible reason for us not being told the truth because there can be no justifiable reason. Unfortunately, those responsible for lying (hiding the truth) would have been long gone from Government/Military (probably buried with honours) whilst, sadly, many of those bullied/discredited will have died after living a life where they had been denounced as hoaxers or fools. Brilliant work Gary and Ryan, but I hope you read my notes and can see my point of view on these two points.
