The King of the Mist you need to fight for your ascendancy is in T14+ maps only. It is a different fight where you actually teleport to an arena. It is a hard fight I have failed it as have no idea on the mechanics :)

I've seen he was one shotting people. Cool that there's the two different interactions with him. T14 is definitely going to be rough but I like the challenge. Also used to love RoA, love your guides, will have to league start it again one of these times.

About the King in the Mist, he has 2 versions, 1 wandering around and another within his stronghold for the 4th quest You can find him wondering during the campaign, which is required for the purple third quest I guess, but the stronghold which is for the fourth mission I only found in maps

I found the King of the Mists a few times during the campaign, and he beat my ass every time. I need him for the quest now and haven't seen him once climbing through to red maps.

I've been hearing in the Streamer Chats that he's just one shotting people so I've been trying to figure out the earliest you can get him cause my build is anything but optimized, but it feels like everything in the Woods is really random, UNLESS you're specifically looking for someone. Everytime I finished a Wanderer Quest it took 3-5 times in there to find them to turn it in.

I killed him twice in chapter 10. Was level 71ish and 74ish

You can definitely get the quest mini boss for the 3rd set of points during the campaign. I got it during Act 8 yesterday. I'm assuming the final 2 points are map only, though.

The major consensus in the comments is that you can run into the King in the Mists early on but T14 in his stronghold seems to be the way to get your last 2 points.

FYI: King of the mists encountered in Act9, so definitely earlier on. Just like the invokation of whatever that instakills you is spawning as early as act 5. It's just as random as everything else in this game.

@@PoEInstitute ever since the inception of PoE I have NEVER seen a Beast-Boss by myself. That is even with speccing into the beast nodes in two leagues since the atlas passives. Had to buy them every single time :) That's just the nature of GRINDING gear games. They keep on taking their name very serious.

I found a shrine that gave me 5 minute of immunity, like 100% action speed and damage right next to a 200% exp shrine. Was a great map and a super easy ultimatum

So the real question for me is this. I have leveled two characters into the 20's. First one didn't have a fun build so I started over. NEVER have I found the fire camp with the NPCs. Seem to consistently follow the colors blue/purple/gold as I had seen in other videos and only ever come across those small POI's that have some stashes and extra mobs but no NPCs. Is there a level or act gate that isn't mentioned? Kinda getting tired of running the seasonal mechanic for minimal gain if I should just speed run through to later acts to get any real effect from them.

When I was checking to see if your progress was Per Character or Per Account I was trying to run into them as early as possible. I reset the Broken Bridge SO MANY times. I'm pretty sure the earliest you can get to them is Act 2, but I think your Wisps Power isn't really long enough unless you get lucky. So if I was feeling like you, I'd probably wait until Act 3 or Act 4 when you should have enough Wisp Power to get to them. In all honesty the Warden is the most beneficial early on because of the movespeed for having no socketed skills in boots.

@@Joehockey1990 Nope, I really wish there was something better than just following colored wisps and good RNG but that's all I see. Once you find them your next problem is trying to find the specific one after completing the quest. I find the Purple guy ALL THE TIME, but I'm looking for the Blue one lol

I can definitely do it. I'm specc'd into it on the Atlas Tree, the thing that will probably take me the longest is getting through the list of the punishment things you can take.

Only thing I notice is that the visual effectbthat occurs when you pick it depends on the amount of wisps you collected. Pick 2 big wisps in a row and the 2nd won't do any explosion. Pick some more small wisps and the 3rd big one will have an explosion also. I wonder if it might be more of an intermediate 'save point'. In case you die in the woods, part of the wisps collected will still count

@@MathieuPilot So we've been going slow to look at them. The blue orbs have 2 different sizes. The bigger one seems to light the area up, and the smaller one increases the distance you can go. Idk for sure if the bigger one also increases distance as well.

Also: If you change ascendancies you WILL LOSE YOUR SPECTRES! So, if you plan on swapping go to your hideout and un-equip your spectre gem. This will cause them to respawn as corpses that you can re-summon after making changes to your ascendency. This also works if you want to get rid of a particular spectre and replace it without risking the others. In your hideout de-equip your spectre gem to spawn the corpses. Then you put down your new spectre corpse, target it and the ones you want to keep to summon.

I never even thought about that. I'm not a fan of something as simple as changing ascendancies unequiping and then re-equiping the gem.

The Wildwood Ascendancies are just like you're regular Ascendancies, they're permanent once you unlock them. Charms Effects are Permanent once slotted into the Ascendancy Tree. Tinctures need to be toggled on like Auras, so they're on until you turn them off or die. The Corpses if you Spectre them and they die you must go buy new ones, you can't desecrate them.

I wasn't entirely sure if you could do that since the campaign maxes at Level 67 and the Data Dump showed him at level 68. While I was resetting in Reliquary(zone level 67) I killed the Unique bundle of thorns looking thing and the Charm it dropped was Item Level 69. So thank you for letting me know, looks like I'm going to be resetting more Reliquary to confirm and at least see what his "stronghold" looks like.

I gathered 500 Nameless Creatures and primalist said quest done and sent me to find Morrigan.....I thought I have 1st jewel slot after 500 creatures...am I wrong or my quest line bugged?

Weird. If you completed the 500 Nameless creatures and turned it in and she gave you the Morrigan quest then you should have 4 Points for the Primalist tree. You don't have the Warcry looting/chest opening node do you?

That's good to know. A friend of mine was doing the mechanic while levelling and said that's what he felt like it was doing. Would be nice if we had a bar or some type of visual indicator to show how far we have left before the Wisps run out of power.

@@PoEInstitute Yes, THIS! There is so much that GGG has simply not bothered to included or purposely removed. A progress bar. A minimap icon of the master so you know which direction to wander in... or if one is even present. Location markers if you pass an area and 'light it' without stopping (as in you breeze past an encounter zone without seeing it but close enough to make the mist reveal it). I LOATHE navigating that zone.

@@amzarnacht6710 well at the minimum the master icons should pop up once you've lit up the area they're in. I still like the feeling of being lost in the darkness of these woods, but they could've at least made the circle of wisps that surround you dim as they lose power.

You can meet him early, even during the campaign. But it won't count for the quest. That's a different fight that requires you to fight him in his stronghold. Only spawns in t14+ maps I've heard.

All I saw so far (only reached a2) was yellow mobs, loot containers and a shrine/altar that gave me 300% exp. but removed mob drops.

The mobs are pretty strong, your build might be able to pop off of them by Act 3. I had one character that I tried to reset a zone 20 times and couldn't find a Wanderer so I gave up and found them in Act 3.

Underrated tincture mod: Overkill damage leached as life. This allowed me to complete campaign comfortably with 2.2k life. Combined with 10% instant leach mastery and you can survive alot of shit.

That's weird and I wish I had an answer. I assume after you killed him you found your wanderer person again right? If I'm being honest I never even noticed if the quest log updates for any of that.

The faster the better since you unlock passives, unless you are on a weak spot on your build

Between the 500 mobs and the 4k Wisps they actually come out pretty even. I did one run where I did it early in Crystal Veins where my character was destroying everything and then another run where I waited until Maps and was kinda iffy. It really is more beneficial to do it early where the monsters are weak, just look for the trail of Wisps that are the color of your Wildwood Wanderer and hopefully you find those open area nodes that have a bunch of the monsters of that color spawn. Can get it done in maybe 10 resets of a zone. PLUS, most of the Wildwood Ascendancies are a real boost to the campaign levelling when you've got 4 points.

Take Warden of the Maji while leveling, with the node that gives bonuses for not having gems socketed in various pieces of gear. Don't socket your boots and helm for a free 30% movespeed and 50% all resist. You can switch to a different wildwood ascendancy later. If you're not sure which to use for your build, the Primal Huntress is the most general purpose choice as you can just switch in different charms as you like on her tree. Also boneshatter will be tough on a new player. I hope you have a good guide to follow!
