Great reaction. Listening to this song live after being pounded by much darker or heavier songs by them, I felt like I was almost floating in the air. Fuki is such a mesmerizing vocalist, stripping away the fullness of her voice for this song, sounding so light, fresh, and innocent. She can be so versatile, like an actress playing different roles. If guitar leads give you orgasms, just wait until you hear Jill's violin lead live. You can also experience guitar and violin leads together. That’s also the highlight of Unlucky Morpheus. See if that can take you to the unknown territory of 'O.'😂 Moreover, the drummer is like a machine. You become engrossed watching them because so many parts are moving at the same time, and you don’t want to miss that. They are one of the most underrated bands in the world.🤘I’m glad that you came back to UM again. They have many more great songs.🔥

Hey Anastasia. Glad to see you jonesing on UM. No, they have never been to the States and from what I know it is unlikely. They have only been to Europe a couple of times (I saw them in London) but it's much easier for Japanese (or any) bands to arrange gigs in Europe than in the U.S., and Fuki has said she has little interest in going through the hassle and expense of going to the U.S. Blame our visa and tax policies. They remain independent so they don't have a label to backstop them.

I always feel this was a "because we can song", and Unlucky Morpheus, do tend to do somethings because they can. The song is off the last album, which was more a J-rock album than a metal album, and this song was the most poppyist of them, also the lack of Fuki's vibrato in the song, some people said they could not do the softer songs , or do a song without Fuki's vibrato, hence the because we can, because people said they could not do it. Unlucky Morpheus were started in 2008 as a side project between Fuki and Shiren, they had just been in a short lived band called Magic Ninja, who did covers of Amine songs, it was a side project as Fuki and Shiren had full time bands. Unlucky Morpheus started of as a Touhou band, Touhou is a paltform video game series in Japan that is very popular in Japan, and a Touhou band takes the music and changes it in some way, in Unlucky Morpheus case putting vocals to the tracks and making themusic heavier. After a few years they had atracked a few fans, who wanted to see the band live. The problem they had was it was just the 2 of them, so they invited a few friends to help them out live, and you'd have differnt people at each live show, but some stayed around and always helped them out, up to the point they had a fixed support band, with Jill (violin being the last one in 2014. In 2016 Fuki was without a main band, as Light Binger had gone in to hiatus a years or 2 before, and Shiren who had picked up a wrist injury and was reducing the number of bands he play in, decided to take Unlucky Morpheus full time, and asked the other that had been playing with them live, to join them. The band members. Fuki (singer) is just a workaholic, in 15 years she has been involved in around 120 releases, mostly full albums. Apart from being in UM she is also in Doll$boxx, a side project between her and Gacharic Spin, she also has her own solo act, plus many other things she is part of inc guest appearances. She is also a designer and occasionally does modeling work, had her own radio show. Also she is not a trained singer, as she say's it's the way her mother sang and that's where she got it from. Shiren (lead Guitar/growls) is normally the lead guitarist, but he has tenosynovitis of the arm, so has to rest it, now and again, that's the reason behind the guitar he uses on stage, as there is not much weight to it. When Shiren takes a rest, Jill takes over his part playing violin when they are live, in 2 songs, Black Pentagram and Angreifer. He has started to do more growls lately due to his arm problem, so they a lot of songs with out the growls. He was also in the 1st Kami band (Babymetal) at Legend "I", he has also been in lots of other bands. He also plays Bass, Keyboards, Piano, Trumpet, Programming, Drums, Percussion, Arrangement, Composition, and various other instruments. Jill (violin) is just ........................ What can you say about Jill, that you can't say about the rest of the band, she is just super talented, she is a Tokyo University of the Arts graduate, finished top of her year, and totally the real deal. Jill also claims to be pitch perfect, and can hear the pitch of rain if she wants to, as when she 1st learnt to play, which was around 3, that is how she was taught to learn music, by ear not notes from a sheet. She has her own YT channel (jill violin channel). She has also done and still does work with other bands, some of them are big names in Japan. When she 1st joined the band they did tend to put her down in the mix when they did studio tracks, but now as the fans love her, they have moved her a bit more to the front. They have also started a side project called "Quadratum From Unlucky Morpheus" which is Jinya, Jill, Ogawa, and Fumiya. They are doing instrumental covers and have an album out. Fuki has said that the violin takes the part of the vocalist. Try a violin cover of EVH's "Eruption". Jill wanted to play violin, because her elder bother was learning at the time, and they are also in a band together. Jill is also looked on by the rest of the band as the wierd crazy one, even by Fuki who is a fully fledged Otaku. Ogawa (bass) is really a jazz bassist, he is in the band as he was friends with Shiren before he joined, as they where in the same year at music college in Toyko. He was a protégé of Mikio Fujioka, who you may know from Babymetal's Kami band, were in a band called Trick Box, way back in 2008. Jinya (guitar) has his own band called "Carbonic Acid" and also plays in another band called "Undead Corporation". He has also had to do a bit more of the guitar work due to the problem with Shiren. He was found by Fuki, when she was at a concert, with another band she was singing for, and told Shiren he should check him out. Fumiya (drums) Another member that has had a lot of work with other bands over the years inc Galneryus. He also went to the same college as Shiren and Ogawa, but was 2 years below them. they knew of each other there, but did not mix, it was not until after they were introduced to each other, and Shiren's reaction was, that's a lot of drums. There is one more member of the band, who you never really see, as he only appears at some of the live shows in Japan. He is another singer, who used to be in 2 other side projects of Shiren's, one of them also had Fuki as well. That is "Kasumi". Unlucky Morpheus refer to themselves as a technical melodic speed metal band, although they can play any style they want, as the band is so tallented. They are known in Japan as Ankimo. Ankimo is a food made of fish liver, and one of Fuki's favourite foods. But the name came about because of a game that fuki plays, you have a big word/s and try and make it a 6 letter/sound word. Fuki had the name Ankimo before the Unlucky Morpheus name, so if you put the 2 together to see how it works (AN)luc(KI) (MO)rpheus, in Japanese the English A and U sound very much the same, the same with I and Y. Unlucky Morpheus have only played out side Japan once, and that was at a Japanese music festival in London. acording to Fuki, in a live stream chat, they were going to play in the US as well at 1 point, but the preson who booked them, skimped out of the visa's for the band, and insted of a musicians visa which would allow them to play, the person got them the cheeper one which did not allow them to play. And they spent a fair bit of money getting to the US to play, which they could not, so could not recoup their costs. Since then they have been very weary of going overseas. They have said they want to do a world tour, but can not see it happening, as they would have to organise it themselves, which is a lot of logistics for a small band to do, esp when you've learnt not to trust people. So If you really want to see them live, then your going to have to go to Japan, which I am planning to do next year. This year they are doing a Shiren from Unlucky Morheus Album, so no Fuki, but Fuki is doing something with Doll$boxx at the end of the year. I know there is a Japan tour with Gacharic Spin, but hopefuly there will be an album as well. Fuki has sung in English once with Unlucky Morpeus with a song called "Carry on Singing to the Sky", which is a tribute song to Andre Matos, who they were a big fan of. The song was also sang in English as a thank you to all the overseas fans they had picked up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i53TcoqsZrWEbtk The songs music has a lot of Angra refences in it. Fuki has also sang in English for another band called "Nozomu Wakai’s DESTINIA" on their Anecdote of the Queens (2015) EP. One of the songs off the EP was also sung by Rob Rock, and Fuki and Rob did a live duet singing the song. Fuki also sang them as Fuki Commune part of Fuki Fes 2016. Fuki Commune is a band that is made up of friends of Fuki, who play once a year at Fuki Fes. Please note before this section Fuki does not speak English, she was trained to be able to sing the following in English. So to stop the KZbin munch bot, the songs without links. This song is from the last album and is their softest song ever I think. From this album I recommend "The Black Death Mansion Murders". Also, they are recording for an album of a side project that is everyone in the band except Fuki and their music would be really heavy. They released a song a couple years ago called "Want to Live" that I recomment as well. Both MV's are in their channel
