A phenomenal band, their back catalogue is incredible. Fuki is beautiful, my favourite female vocalist. Jill on violin makes there sound so distinctive.

The song is about some one that have died and has re-awoken as a vampire. Fuki is singing about trying to them trying to hold on to their humanity and Shiren is singing from the hunger side of things trying to get them to feed for the 1st time and be fully re-born. When Shiren first heard Jill playing violin he knew it was a sound he wanted in the band. Jill can almost play anything on the violin that can be played on the guitar. If you want more of the violin try "The Tower of Blood"

One of my favorite band! That male singer (shiren) is one of their guitarists, composer and founder. Because his arm was injured at that time, he could not play the guitar often during live performances. He’s guitar part of this song was handed over to jill(violin) to play Please check out《opfer》or《knight of sword》next!🤘🏻👍🏻

Congrats on finding Unlucky Morpheus-one of the best, most creative bands in the world today. My top suggestion for a live clip is this one, so you hit the jackpot! Amid all the (justified) excitement over the Japanese all-female metal bands, we forget there are plenty of guys who throw down. Shiren, founder and one of the guitarists, also does the growls. Fumiya (Drums) is, as you saw, insane and inexhaustible-one of the best rock drummers in the world. Jinya (G) and Ogawa (B) are solid as well. Fumiya and Ogawa also have interesting, “beast” personae which contrast with the “beauty” of Fuki and Jill. That contrast is a deliberate trope, similar to the “Beauty and the Beast” imagery of many European symphonic metal bands. Fuki (lead singer) is a legend in Japan, and one of the busiest artists anywhere. She is lead singer for UM, Doll$boxx, Lightbringer and her own ongoing project, Fuki Commune. Her style is very much out of the Japanese classical tradition, with the oversold vibrato and intense high notes. She collaborates with a lot of the top musical talents in Japan. Jill (violin) also has a busy dance card, including collaborations with Fuki outside UM. Jill is actually my favorite member of Unlucky Morpheus. I consider her the best rock/jazz/metal violinist in the world today, and probably the best since Jean-Luc Ponty. Here are links to instrumentals featuring her in UM’s instrumental project Quadratum: Cover of van Halen "Eruption" kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4XFYYeHqbuHbM0 Cover of Malmsteen "Far Beyond the Sun" kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2PLi3ewf9VshsU Cover of Dream Theater, played blindfolded: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpa9h4mqlrR1gc0 I saw UM live in London in 2019, when they headlined Metal Matsuri. Great show, and the chemistry between Fuki and Jill was electric.

Awesome reaction guys!! Loved Leo's reaction at 6:25 . Ha, ha, ha! It was perfect. Actually I loved Andy's "mind blown" reaction too. This band is superb. Musically for me they are a level above everybody else in J-Metal. You know an artist is good when they expand your idea of what you think was possible. This band is definitely that. Please more Unlucky Morpheus. If you want an MV, "Black Pentagram" is great. If you want to see another live my favorite by a hair is Opfer, from the same album as this one. Other great live ones are "Phantom Blood", "The Tower of Blood" or "Get Revenge on the Tyrant". Oh, and finally, Andy, you are absolutely correct about getting Anime and Video Game vibes. These guys are video game, anime and manga nerds. Most of their songs are related to video games and/or anime from what I've heard.

They are called Ankimo (あん肝) in Japan. In Japanese, UN (lucky morphia) and AN (lucky morphia) have the same pronunciation. Un = An. kimo = ky (convert Lucky's ky to ki), mo = (acronym for Morpheus) Ankimo means the liver of anglerfish, which is the liver of fish. In Japan, when you drink alcohol, you often eat it as a side dish. In that case, crush the liver, wrap it in aluminum foil and simmer. After chilling in the refrigerator, slice the chilled anglerfish liver and Next, add ponzu and eat. (Vo), lyrics, chorus, media group, band management) ( 天外冬黄 ) Fuyuki Tenge / Other activity names: Fuki She is a girl who loves exercise, and when she was in junior high school, she met X JAPAN, Onmyo-Za, and woke up to her band. She has a powerful singing voice with a volume that does not require a microphone, and she is confident that she can deliver her own singing voice to the audience without compromising her instruments and noise. (Guitar, composition, lyrics, arrangement, programming, death voice, band management): (紫煉)Shiren Leader of Unlucky Morpheus. He learned the piano in his childhood and played the trumpet in the brass band in junior high school. He met X JAPAN when he took the high school exam and started playing the guitar after the exam. Since he was a teenager, he has been known as a top regular guitarist in guitar contests. He has been suffering from tendonitis of the arm since the end of 2016, using a guitar stand live, and for some songs he only plays the guitar solo and leaves the rest to Jinya. At such times, he concentrates on screaming. (Guitar) (仁耶) Jinya When he was a beginner, he practiced guitar exclusively at meetinghouses on the Internet. He practiced guitar almost on his own, and regularly performed live house activities with his friends to test their courage and develop a sense of the stage. He vaguely thought that music wouldn't be part of his hobby, with no future professional taste. However, while in high school, he joined another band and caught the eye of leader Shiren when he faced off against Unlucky Morpheus, and he joined their band. (base ) Hiroyuki Ogawa ( Nickname is Ogya or Ogawa-kun. ) Ogya has begun a longing base for LUNA SEA and other similar rock bands. Ogya met the leader Shiren at a music college. Shiren saw Ogya's solid bass play and invited him to join the band. Ogya, he's not heavy metal oriented, but he joined the band as an assistant as someone who started the band around the same time. He also participated in a live performance that was not attended by vocalist Fuki and leader Shiren, and for some reason won the title of perfect attendance award and reigned as the ruler of the shadows. "I'm a pirate! I'm a big guy who doesn't care about the details," he says himself. He is currently also active in TRICK BOX and THE CHARM PARK. (Dr) FUMIYA ( Nickname is Fumin or Fumin ) About the drums I had at my parents' house when I was in junior high school Someone said, "If you don't use this drum, I want you to hand it over." Said. Then he said, "Then I'll hit the drum myself." Then he woke up and started playing the drums. Actually, this drum set was purchased by his older sister, who was a fan of X JAPAN at the time, longing for YOSHIKI. She wasn't even playing and was fertilizer for her home. He moved to Tokyo alone when he graduated from high school. He has played in numerous bands and is loved by many of his seniors for his personality and loved by his juniors, and his network of contacts within the industry is extraordinary. He is currently focusing on NEKOMANJU and Unlucky Morpheus. ( Violin ) JILL She has been a violinist since childhood and went on to Tokyo University of the Arts. She has won many awards in Japanese and overseas competitions. While attending Tokyo University of the Arts, he formed "About Rose Noire" with his brother Louie and is still active. When Shiren and JILL came together on the same stage at a live concert After receiving an offer from Shiren to join the band, JILL decided to join Unlucky Morpheus. Like Jinya on the guitar, it's natural in itself and there's no shortage of episodes. She loves alcohol and sometimes appeared with Smirnoff at an airport conference during the band's overseas expedition, which surprised the members. After the stage, canned beer with a straw is waiting in the backyard. (Vocal, Chorus, Band Management, Management, Mobile Vehicle Driving Kasumi): Kasumi A second vocalist who fascinates the audience by making full use of high-tone voices that are far from men. He is also a vocalist of Icarus'cry, a sister circle of Unlucky Morpheus, and often sings Icarus' cry songs live. He is recognized as a festival man, and he sometimes shows cosplay at live performances. He basically appears as a helper, and may appear only as a twin vocal or may not appear in the first place. Although he has the excellence of being deeply involved in band management as a leader, it is difficult for even band members to find out what he really is because most of the words that come out of his mouth contain jokes and his voice does not change. He is also in charge of behind-the-scenes work such as booking a live house, and the members agree that it is difficult to tour without Kasumi. That's a brief introduction to them. I hope you will enjoy Unlucky Morpheus. Thank you.
