[ Official Live Video ] Unlucky Morpheus - 奇子 ~ Unknown Child This song "奇子", pronounced as "Ayako," is evidently derived from Osamu Tezuka's dark manga. The band "陰陽座"(Onmyouza), which greatly influenced UM's vocalist Fuki, also has a song titled "奇子" that is derived from Osamu Tezuka's "奇子". Musically, the "奇子" composed by UM is an arrangement of "U.N. Owen was her?" which is the theme song for Flandre Scarlet in the Touhou series​. Both Flandre and 奇子 share the commonality of being secluded girls. (Unknown ≒ U.N.Owen). This song was part of UM's first album "REBIRTH", released in 2009, but was rearranged and recorded again for the "REBIRTH Revisited" in 2015. The video is from a 2019 tour "Lunatic East 2019 tour" where they performed only Touhou arrangement songs, and this song was one of them.

It was a fantastic reaction. I truly believe these two songs showcase genius-level talent. The audio source, of course, isn't a complete reverse playback but rather a live performance, yet the melodies and solo parts are exactly as they would be in reverse playback. (Though the drums and lyrics do differ unavoidably.) Furthermore, the lyrics create a reverse narrative, with "the dead turning into diamonds" ⇒ "resurrecting the dead from diamonds." However, Shiren, the leader who composed this song, says, "The most challenging aspect was not so much the melody itself but making sure the song builds up in intensity in the latter half, regardless of which way you listen." While there are many great songs to listen to from Unlucky Morpheus, the one I highly recommend next is the [Official Live Video] Unlucky Morpheus - "Dignity of Spirit" ("その魂に安らぎを").

Unlucky Morpheus is certainly a top tier Japanese band and Jill (not real name) the violinist is stellar, one of the best. The song is based on a book Guitarist Shiren read - about a man whose true love died, and heard that you could take the ashes of the dead, compress them into a magical diamond, and use it to bring someone back to life. The first half is about the death of his love and, the second half is about the re-incarnation. All of the music is played backwards in Revadac - except for the drums (would not work backwards), and the vocals (which follow the death/rebirth saga).
