The robo voice he seems to use the most (and isn't the one in the 1788-L video) is the Speak 'n Spell voice. Its a pretty well known voice especially if you were a kid in the 80's. I owned one and I was fascinating and a little creepy. Fascinating because it could pronounce words which seemed incredibly high tech for the time (especially since it was a kid's toy and not a powerful computer) and creepy because the voice was a little creepy sounding.

My dark horse theory is that justice is involved. I don’t see the upside for an already established bass music producer to create an entirely new brand when the music isn’t drastically different from what they already produce. At the 2019 shambhala show they played a “Stress” remix as well as the melody to daft punks “da funk” using the synth from their opening to “Genesis”. They also had the justice logos as part of the visuals during those songs if I recall correctly. The song “Stress” itself feels almost like a proto deathpact song. Justice used a cross in both their main logo as well as for the name and logo to their debut album while stating that they would never perform it inverted out of respect. The DP deathpact logo looks an awful lot like an inverted cross if you connect the lines and this would also explain the anonymity to keep good on that promise. It could also explain the connection to Jean-Michel Jarre as Justice is french duo. They also seem to have slowed down quite significantly around the same time deathpact started releasing music. I think you’re right that another person is largely responsible for touring duties but from a production standpoint theres a similarity to the sound design that stands out to me. Whoever they are I really believe that its going to involve an artist far out of left field who wanted to enter the midtempo space but felt that it would contrast too heavily with their existing sound. Or im just smoking crack
@audioeats Жыл бұрын
Oooh I like that, I could honestly see it. And I agree that it doesn't really make sense for an established artist to start a side project that's already similar to their own sound. I think it could make sense if it was a huge group of artists that just contribute here and there, and it's just a fun thing for all of them, but if it's just one or two established artists it doesn't make sense. Part of me can't get over feeling like Odesza has had some involvement, even if it's just a little. The synth from Catalyst sounds like a slightly modified version of the one from The Last Goodbye, and Deathpact has played the part of The Last Goodbye that has that synth. I'd like to think it's a massive supergroup of diverse artists, and it's just a fun way for them to express some creativity outside the bounds of their own projects. It would be funny if in reality it's just a random group of people we've never heard of before though lol
@imapig1919 Жыл бұрын
@@audioeats my guess is its Justice (or Odesza also fits otherwise because of all the stuff you mentioned plus the split personality/duo at shambs 2022 stuff heavily implies a duo’s involvement), Clozee (also french) and 1788-L. Im pretty sure this started as a collaborative project including all the artists of deadbeats and they'd just throw whoever isnt busy at the live shows but now im convinced artists outside the label might contribute as well. The concept of artists having this alternate outlet to experiment and fuck around with whatever and whoever whenever they want is pretty cool.
@audioeats Жыл бұрын
Yeah that's pretty much what I think too, that it's basically a superproject that all different kinds of artists have contributed to. I could be wrong, but you could slap those on the next Odesza album and I wouldn't bat an eye.

I'm fairly certain Rezz is apart of Deathpact, I've seen death pact a few months ago where rezz played. Dp looked remarkably similar to rezz's body type. She wears tight pants, and death pact was wearing tight pants, and the legs looked like the same person. I also saw dp at fear factory, and I believe this was a guy. From where I was standing he was very tall and thin, with broad shoulders. I'm friends with another producer who told me 1788L is very nice while death pact came across a bit short and from my personal experience messaging dp, they are very vague when I ask about their production, whereas 1788L was very open to discussing production. Deadmau5 is a bit of a stretch for me, there's a clip about him meeting dp and a txt conversation. Deadmau5 literally told everyone on stream all the big festival shows are prerecorded to some degree, so I don't think he gives a shit about industry secrets. Also in the XLNT sound video, they got the chemical bond project file and its very different production than something deadmau5 would do, still he could dawn the mask and play for fun. Defiantly a cool project, Going to see dp on nye

Yeah I don't think Deadmau5 is involved either, seems like a big stretch. I had seen a good bit of people say they think Deadmau5 is Deathpact though so I figured it would be fun to throw in the video. I think if deadmau5 was involved, he would've most likely had a lot of influence on the digital/internet side of deathpact. I say this because of how tech savvy deadmau5 is and has always been. Plus, deadmau5 has had a few side projects in the past, and has been known to "troll" people in the past, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was contributing... Deadmau5 could even be the main deathpact and foresaw the huge manhunt and purposely made it look like deathpact and deadmau5 have too many conflicts by getting other DJs to do the live bits, resulting in "obviously" ruling him out.

But this summer at Ile Soniq 2023 in Montreal, Deadmau5 was supposed to play a sunset set as Deadmau5 and then headline one of the stages as testpilot, but his cat died and he cancelled both sets. This happened last minute, liemt he day before or day of the set. The last minute replacement for the testpilot headliner was none other than Deathpact. This of course confirms Deadmau5 was not that deathpact. But it makes me wonder even more of what type of connection they might have.
@audioeats9 ай бұрын
I don't think that would necessarily mean they're connected, the festival was probably calling a lot of people to see who was available, and Deathpact may have been nearby. Plus if Deathpact is using different people for different shows, then that probably makes them a great last minute replacement assuming the different performers live in different cities. Two artists I wish I would have included in this video are 13 and Autoerotique, they're both Canadian and have fairly strong cases for being involved in Deathpact (13 maybe a little more so than Autoerotique), so I wonder if one of them was the replacement at illsoniq 🤔 Pretty impossible to say for sure though

I’m new here on the hype train, and I could just be pulling this out of my ass, but could any of them possibly be “shade” from code orange? They managed to get a remix and shade is known for being super into electronics and edm and is also hella tall (maybe 6.1?). Honestly probably could debunk this hella but this is the first time I’ve heard of deathpact 😂

What I don’t get. Why would some of these artists. Rezz, madeon, odesza, zeds dead, etc…. which I would love to believe because I love these artists so much. But they are already so established and rich and will make 10x more money doing their own thing. All these artists are touring 24/7 and are already so busy. I can see them helping the project but why would they? Rezz and deathpact have such similar sound and with their super early collabs yes. And with deathpact world debuting at shambhala showing yes they have to have some sort of headline establishment it’s soooooo tuff and confusing. I don’t want to know who it is because it will ruin the project but I also need to know. Who tf is atliens too tho?

So after making this video some people have given me info in confidence, and all I'll say is the main person who started Deathpact isn't in this video, but at least one person mentioned in the video is involved, they just weren't the one who started it. The person who started it had a different alias in the past and they were decently known but never that big. And ATLiens are just 2 dudes from Atlanta that got big under that name, they aren't previously big artists who started a new project or anything like that.

How could you not even mention daft punk?! They’re the main tease outside rezz or 1788-l Hard disagree on opiuo, clozee, odesza, and zeds dead, deadmau5 isn’t even on the table Deathpact says they are everyone, and saying they are zeds dead while working with them for a track doesn’t seem like it would really mean anything, at least to my brain! And most of the odesza links you mentioned center around them releasing a song together I’ve been there since that rainy opening set in 2019, they played multiple daft punk samples and visuals A single member of daft punk would have all the connections needed to forge a pact with Rezz and 1788-l as well as any connections and an actual open schedule for every single show deathpact has ever done Plus DP It just makes sense
@quicksmilenathan1037 ай бұрын
DEATHPACT is a project of deadbeats! And some Mau5trap artists! I definitely hear some older works of Blanke (blank.) blanke has some experience with mid tempo and Rezz too! So I would say that Rezz, Blanke and Zeds Dead are definitely producers! If it comes to dj’s I’m sure that you’re right about Rezz she definitely played as DeathPact I’m sure that zeds dead also played as death pact! If it comes to the internet puzzle game that might be the work of a team and maybe even deadmau5 he’s a bit of a geek so I wouldn’t be surprised if he had something to do with that stuff but on the other hand is deadmau5 not really the guy to do stuff like this since he doesn’t likes to bothered too much 😂

I don't think any of those 3 are the main people who perform as Deathpact (if they even have one main person that does most of the shows) but personally I feel the chances of Rezz and Clozee being the Orlando & LA Deathpacts are really high. I could be looking into coincidences too much, but the fact that Clozee was playing in LA the next night after the LA Deathpact show, and the fact she was free for a week prior is pretty convincing, and their body language seemed similar. And then with Rezz the whole thing about her having time off where she was probably in Tampa for a while before the Orlando show, plus what the person on Reddit said about the Orlando show. I didn't show any videos of the Orlando show because the only ones I could find were on Instagram and they weren't very high quality, but the body language also seemed to match Rezz. There were quite a few people on Reddit saying they've seen Deathpact multiple times now and they've been different sizes for different shows. I don't think Rezz or Clozee would be go to artists to use consistently as Deathpact because they're both fairly busy, but I'm pretty sold on them both being involved with the 4 shows in one night. I could be looking in all the wrong places though. Either way, I don't think it's the same person for every show. I'll check to see how the schedules of the artists in the video coincide with that LIB date and I'll get back to you on that.
@audioeats Жыл бұрын
So here's what I came up with: Rezz - Her last show before was about a week prior at Hangout Fest, and her next set was 2 days later, May 28th at LIB. She doesn't fit your description though. Clozee - Her schedule was wide open, last show before LIB DP date was late March at Ultra, and next show after was mid June at sonic bloom OPIUO - He was available, his last show before was May 21st, and next show after was June 10th Odesza - They we're available, their last show before was early March at CRSSD, and their next show after was June 10th at Gov Ball. I'm pretty sure they're both under 6ft though, maybe close like 5'10ish. Zeds Dead - They played in Toronto that day 1788-L - He was available, his last show before was December 30th 2022, and next show after was July 14th. (But like you said, he's shorter so that doesn't fit the description.) Blanke - His schedule was open, last show before was May 5th, and next show after was June 9th. He seems to be about 6ft but I can't tell for sure. Deadmau5 - he was available, his last show before was May 19th and next show after was June 3rd. I think he's on the shorter side though so that doesn't really match your description. Bonus: EPROM - He was available, his last set before was April 22nd, and his next set after was July 29th. I think he's around 6ft? But also not sure. I've seen his name thrown around a little bit in the conversation but I never looked into him much.
