Socotra, the island of another planet

Socotra is a unique archipelago. When observing its vegetation and its animals we can think that it is fiction or from another planet. In fact, more than a third of its plant species are endemic: that is, they cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Among these species the dragon blood tree stands out. It is so called since its bark gives off a red resin, which has been used as a pigment and in medicine.
Socotra is located just 200 kilometers off the coast of Somalia and belongs to Yemen, a country that has been experiencing a bloody civil war since 2015. How does this conflict affect Socotra? Is it possible in the future to develop sustainable tourism that does not affect species in danger of extinction?
