This was the very first video that exposed me to UK grime and UK hip hop in general (I’m from Chicago, Illinois born and raised) and I started telling my friends here to listen to y’all music and til this day they thank me for it. Dizzee rascal seems to now be bringing the early 2000s real grime style back. I know I'm not alone in this. If you're unaware, Dizzee released a new album couple days ago and a new video which features the early Nokia cellphone, and the toasting rap style, very good tune.

I remember hearing this for the first time when I was 12 or 13 and was instantly captivated upon hearing ‘we can move where we want no jurisdiction’ with the beat dropping as well it was hard to ignore.. the problem with UK rap (until around the 2000-teens when they switched to a more American sound around 2015) was that tracks like this were absolute fire...but...they were rapping to brick walls. There was NOTHING the industry could have done for them those days and there was just too much poverty and enclaves were just too small to crowd-source "recognition." The underground was as far as they could go. Then uk rap went from raves to gang stuff, and that definitely ruined it for them because UK wasn't going to support that. Social media saved UK rap very recently, with Stormzy going viral for instance for some reason, though British rap relies now too heavily on Drill beats. This era of music was very charismatic but they're all old or locked up now. Dizzee Rascal seems to be coming back to revive the early 2000s real grime style.@@Khaos969
