This was the first tune that I remember took off for east man, after so solids album and buzz this came out around them times 01 or 02, you can by beat it has a slight garage sound like them so solid beats. This tune was even playing in an eastenders episode once in the background that's how big it got. Reel east ender ting cmon

Such a tune. I was a music teacher in a secondary school with a lot of disaffected black and Asian kids who barely had cultural representation, let alone representation in the curriculum (apart from maths exams where Iqbal is trying to figure out how to fairly share his oranges...) when this tune came out, the kids wanted to lie how to make this sound, and we had pcs that could run FruityLoops (I'd installed a crack). Overnight discipline problems disappeared in my classroom. I started running lunch clubs for kids wanting to learn production. took violence out the playground, into the computer, into music. thank you More Fire crew. I hope you know how important and inspirational you were.

I'm a white boy from the Midlands who mainly listens to metal but I remember hearing this in the early 2000s and just thinking it sounded amazing. I hated garage but this just sounded like some kind of mutant offspring that was a million times more interesting and authentic. After this I got introduced to Wiley and ever since I've always appreciated grime as some of the most innovative, exciting music coming out of the UK but this was my first exposure to it and it still sounds awesome.
@leopardprints4 жыл бұрын
I also mainly listen to metal and I also I like grime. You've perfectly explained why it's so good, it's just interesting and I like the 'hardness' of the vocals and beats. It's just interesting and raw. Next Hype is an amazing song. I know that Dizzee Rascal has spoken about his metal and rock influences, and that's probably why his album sounded so different.

+Anekix What happened to the others, why did only Lethal B blow up
@Anekix9 жыл бұрын
Ozzie B and Neeko are still making music, but Lethal and Ozzie are close friends so they both stay in touch. Lethal was the leader of Fire Camp (More Fire Crew eventually split) and clearly a business man. He's what we call one of the Grime Ministers. Gathering the MC's from different crews together to create the Forward Riddim and just making music his career.

***** I agree with you mate. Wiley used to go onto RWD Magazine Forums and stated how he created 'Grimey Garage' which was around the release of Eskimo and his other White Label instrumentals. Platinum 45 was mainly from a Reggae/Dancehall background and that's why the beat sounded so much like a Dancehall track.

36 years old now and this tune takes me to my teen years differently. Even as a Notts (Nottingham) man, this tune connected differently. This was our sound.
