Eli Cohen went to unimaginable lengths with only one purpose in his life, serve his country and countrymen. He sacrificed everything that was precious to him. It is truly astonishing to see people going to such an extent when there is threat surrounding at every step. Eli has been given so much respect and love by his people is also very heart touching. That's how one should pay respects to people sacrificing their lives for their country. I would like to end with a saying in Hindi, "Eli amar rahe", meaning Long live Eli.

I'm currently reading a book about Mossad's assassinations. At some point it talks about Cohen, his zeal that got him caught and his horrible torture/lynching/execution. The latter shocked the agency and his colleagues, the mossad had to take measures in consequence, understandably since he was considered one of the best agent of the mossad at the time. There's clearly a before and an after Eli Cohen in the history of the agency. For anyone interested, i can give details on how he got caught, it's a bit more complicated than in the video (according to Ronen Bergman's book ofc).

@@hannibalhannibal3983 'Rise and Kill first (the story of israel's secret assassinations)' it starts out during the palestine era (revenge for pogroms and the likes) and then the OSS (a Jewish bataillon to chase down ex Nazis) before the country starts existing. You'll have then the times like spring of youth, Bayonet, Cohen's story (The Spy is a Netflix series about him btw), or even Skorzeny, the nazi they recruited to counter the neighboring arab states developping missiles with some german engineers help (they were too focused on chasing nazis so they forgot about their neighbors who all hated them). I'm currently reading the last days of Golda Meir and how she agreed with her interior or defense minister who insisted for a strike during a hostage crisis which resulted in the terrorists killing around 20 school girls. Another excellent video. It seems disingenuous, however, to say that EC was murdered. He was executed by Syria for the crime of espionage, no? Regardless of how just you think his cause was (I agree it was just) he was still guilty from Syria's perspective of a serious crime.
@Dzan5005 жыл бұрын
Josh Pinchuk I think it comes down to him not being allowed to defend himself in his trial. Thus making his trial invalid effectively turning his death into murder. But ultimately I agree with you he was an amazing person but his death was a primitive punishment but not murder.

E T K Sounds like you’re the one who knows the bare minimum about Zionism, which is a POLITICAL movement [dependent on occupation by force] which seeks to replace the indigenous tenants of Palestine with Jewish migrants from around the world. Many of which are European, American and Russian with little genetic ties to the region. www.hic-mena.org/news.php?id=pGhlag==#.XfCVXCVMGEc
