I was obsessed with Season 1 and I feel the same way about Season 2. White Lotus in a way is like Seinfeld. You know all (or most) of the characters are just awful people (if nothing else because in White Lotus they’re filthy, disgustingly rich), and yet you root for them and can’t look away. Brilliant writer-director, Mike Smith.

My thoughts this season: 1. The casting this season is better than the first. Truth is, I didn't finish the first season cause I really did not like the cast. But this season has been good! 2. The actors Albie, the dad, and grandfather were ON POINT! They really seem related and realistic, as if I know these people 3. I was swoooon when Leo Woodwall showed up. Yup, when a girl wants fun we need that fire and confidence. Albie is so sweet though I am rooting for him. I like how he is a nice guy but self aware and not one dimensional like you assumed he'd be 4. I feel sad for Tanya :( 5. Theo James... chef's kiss 6. The location of the show is beautiful. I feel like I am on vacation myself. The vibes are immaculate 7. This was the best episode yet. It was exciting and good pace. I wasn't bored haha

Season 2 is much better than season 1. I agree with you. Especially regarding F. Murray Abrahams, Michael Imperioli and Adam Di Marco. ON POINT. Realistic and relatable. I personally felt that I was accompanying them on this trip perhaps as a silent cousin or caregiver of grandpa Burt.

This show is a masterpiece, the second season really hit home with me. Just the vibes and everything is great. It's just a great casual, beautiful adventure. The casting is amazing and nothing is cringe in the sense that I dont want to watch the show from cheezy acting etc.

It's funny that you say that, because I think the son is supposed to be just like the father and grandfather. But I imagine most people wouldn't like the father's character. Albie used $ to attempt to manipulate Lucia. Even though he was initially well meaning, he later used his mother as a pawn, saying that he would put in a good word with her for his dad, in exchange for money from his father. He did all that because thought it would help him with a girl. Like father, like son.

This is obvious when they all turn to look at the girl on the airport. As far as i can remember Albie wasn't doing that in the beginning. He comes across as a nice guy but I think it's a facade.

Season 1 was so “meh” and way over-rated (10 Emmys? Really?) that I wasn’t even going to watch Season 2. Too much great TV out now to settle for “average”. But then last week, I binged the first three eps - and couldn’t wait for #4. This season rocks ! The cast is crazy good , and their story lines so compelling. Mike White is a master storyteller. Well done !

Everything feels so manufactured and lacking any kind of true depth. It's fine to watch shows like this as a distraction but when people try to convince themselves that it contains craftsmanship then it's mildly depressing.
