90's Spider-Man cartoon when Carnage shows up was my introduction to Iron Man, where he wore this suit, so it's got a special place in my heart. This figure looks great, I'd prefer the solid yellow and red colour but still, looks great. It's an easy skip for me though, I've got no space for an Iron Man display and after getting the 80 years version, I don't feel I need another Iron Man.

"Superior tech!" I must really be in the minority about the colour, because I do not at all prefer the flat yellow-and-red variants. I always read the comic books' metallic shine detail on the yellow as an approximation of the suit being straight-up gold, that they just couldn't get the "real" colour with the old two-tone printing (a printing method that, to me, still looks better than modern comics. Call it nostalgia, but there's a certain charm, a bit of comic book magic, if you will, that's been lost with the advent of modern printing, with its millions of colours and limitless gradients and effects... Limitations can be a good thing, and the new stuff just doesn't pop like comics of yesteryear do). Like you said, it looks like a car. It looks like the way you'd paint something that's actually metal, so the candy red and gold-gold makes it look more legitimately comic-accurate, to me. I will also say that I disagree with you about which gold looks better. I think the 80th Iron Man has a nicer gold, but I also like that they're different from each other.

Even though it’s an inferior figure I prefer the cap-Wolf over the 80th cap because of the colors. I agree a repaint and maybe a different headsculpt would be dope. Keep going man you’re doing your thing.

I've watched several videos reviewing this figure and yours is my favorite. It's such a great Iron Man figure and I just happened to run into it at a GameStop and after examining it had to buy it immediately. It is the common 90s Iron Man design we saw so much of back then!

I bought this guy about 2 weeks ago. I kept seeing vids about how cool he was so I opened it and yep.... it's one of the coolest Ironman figs I have. Probably my favorite comic version. Plus it's the HulkSmasher base so its extra cool.

The gold rectangle bits on his gauntlets, boots and thighs are where modular weapons and gear could attach (that's why it's the Modular Armor). This armor was designed by the incredible Kevin Hopgood- the same artist that made the first Hulk buster and War Machine! I'm going to have to get this Modular Armor (you sold me!) and add some Gundam weapons to the suit!

Yea, figure is pretty cool. I would also like to see a yellow/red variant and a mullet Tony head and maybe even the Helmet that had the mouth slit like in the cartoon. But for now, this will definitely do!! The gold coulda maybe been alittle brighter like the 2020 Ironman color. IMO, I think that's a good blend of the yellowish gold that the suits need. Not str8 gold and not str8 yellow.

This has always been my favorite armor and I'm glad they finally did it. This is the armor I grew up with as well. I hope they continue to give us iconic armors like this. Give us an update of the Model 9. Also give us the Model 16, the Model 29 (Extremis Armor), and the current Model 70.

Glad you got the figure you’re looking for, I hated this design when it came out. It was very 90s. It looked like a football uniform. And it sucked that as you said, this is the one all the toys and video games used. Too bad, there were a lot better armors before this one. But still I get how every has “their” iron man. Glad you got yours. On a side note- get a mic or something, that shouting is not a good sound for videos.

My only real issue is the gold looks too dark, would have preferred the 80 years gold. Also for a retro War Machine, rerelease the same figure with less accessories and repaint the black as navy blue and the eyes red to give him his animated series look.
