Matt, I have Crohn's disease and I had a surgery with complications last spring. It was the hardest thing I've ever gone through. As I was laying there in pain I would listen to your song happy I'm alive on repeat. It would breathe life into me! All of your songs but that one especially helped me through that time. “Grief is love with no where to go” this quote has helped me a lot. You’re gonna miss the people you lose forever. As we’re meant to. It’ll never hurt less when those waves come, it just gets easier to manage. And when it’s not easy to manage, that’s completely okay. Grief is not linear.

What resonates with me is the "grief ball in a box" metaphor - you are a box with Pain button in it, grief is a ball in the box. Fresh, the grief is filling the box, hitting the pain button all the time. With time, the ball is getting smaller and smaller, hitting the button less often. But when it hits the button, no matter how small the ball got, the feelings of pain are no less. Helps me cope with my grandma's and dad's deaths, because when it hurts I think of the ball hitting the button, but when I'm happy I don't feel the ping of guilt because I think the ball is just not moving and it doesn't matter the pain it's there, but the button is just not being pushed.

I think it helped with their situation more than anything because people are more likely to take them seriously when the podcast is serious compared to more fun playful podcast. Matt, I think your music is amazing. My daughter is 13 and has been writing her own music for a couple of years now. She just started posting them on SoundCloud under the name Zymera. She uses an AI voice since she is not comfortable singing for others to hear. My daughter was diagnosed with Autism at a very young age. She is very high functioning, but has a difficult time socializing. Hearing the lyrics to some of her songs like Gossip breaks a mothers heart knowing where her head is at, but I can’t be more proud of her. Please keep up the music Matt. You have a great talent.
