As a 69 year old who remembers simpler times, today's hectic urban and digital world is absolutely frightening. But I do use a smartphone and need to order things through the internet because I can't get to stores. I live alone and am isolated. I watch KZbin because I can't afford cable and I don't get broadcast TV reception. Outside of that, the smartphone and laptop are tools and nothing more. I much prefer having friends visit me. God certainly knows what is good for us and what ultimately will make us happy. I opined for decades that the Sabbath is a great idea! I love attending church and meeting my friends there. I make sure to spend more time than I usually do with my budgies, reading scripture or watching a faith-based movie on these "days off". I end up sleeping well and feeling rested by Monday morning.
