I own like 25 bottles of it in different formulations and forms and it’s heaven. I notice people who don’t like it aren’t aware each version is different. The edt is different from the edp. The edp is different from the parfum and the parfum is closest in scent to the body cream and lotion. The body oil smells like no 5 eau premiere and eau premier smells like the body soap lol

Let describe Chanel°5 in my opinion!! It was like white wedding gown!! Angel!! It really soft and settle!! Perfect for day and night!! It doesn't smell cheap 🙃!! And it contain rare flower in it!! It has been 2 years for me have good experience with Chanel°5, i never get bored! And always 5 drops before sleep 🤭

I bet if you smelled this on someone 15 minutes after spraying, you would change your mind. After it settles, you can expect the fragrance to reveal its deeper, more nuanced notes. It doesn’t smell like cute, candy-like fragrances, but rather gives a clean, powdery, soapy feel. It smells luxurious and might not suit what you’re wearing.

As soon as I clicked on the video I knew in a second this woman isn’t made for Chanel N. 5! Or Chanel N.5 isn’t made for this woman. It smells bad because the chemistry is off, the body temperature, the vibe. Or maybe the taste in hats and clothing. Not judging the hot pink beanie, but you don’t expect a woman in such clothing wear Chanel N 5 or say she likes it. Maybe only in a parallel universe

Chanel No. 5 was created for “every woman alive”, as the famous ad goes. It’s an egalitarian bit of luxury. Whether one vibes with it or not is another matter, but it’s 2023 and gatekeeping perfume is so un-chic. Chanel herself would agree.

I got a compliment about my fragrance yesterday from a 30 year old friend who is not a perfumista at all. I was wearing a dupe of Chanel 5 (no money for the real stuff 😬). My friend has no idea of what I was wearing, no prejudice at all, she just enjoyed it. So... Maybe it's dated, but it certainly can be appreciated nowadays.

Not bad though! As a fraghead who treats perfumes as arts that have created stories and memories by history, I hv to say it holds some meaning. Last smelled in Germany in 2019 n remember liking it for its old school aldehydic nature. Which channel is known for. M considering to keep a mini of so of the edp in my collection just for thd legacy. 🙂

My grandmas friend wears No5 she has been wearing this one for so many years. This is not her signature scent but she only wears this one occasionally when they go on formal occasions. It smells very similar to Shalimar which is my grandmas signature scent before she wore AE By Clinique.

Try the pure parfum of Chanel No 5 and then make a real conclusion, I do agree that Chanel no 5 is strong and people think it’s “granny” but the pure extrait, the tiny bottle…… that’s the real stuff and it smells totally different than what you think chanel no 5 is--- and yes, chanel is and always will be class and style. The way we all dress is all chanel…. She was a scientist and knew how the body moved, she could cut a suit

It’s an acquired taste for modern noses, but I have to say there are many classic perfumes that aren’t as old as No. 5 but somehow smell even more dated. No. 5 is so old it’s somehow become out of time, an utterly abstract scented object that doesn’t smell like an era so much as it just smells like *itself*. Also, Chanel constantly tweaks the formula so that it feels fresh without messing up the integrity of the scent. Compare a true vintage bottle with a new one, there’s a significant difference.

Its a heavy perfume, but when you use it right iis beautiful...I spray just one time in front of my throat and walk into the vapor...I got a lot of compliments when I get close to people f.e. when I greet people...chanel ist all about minimal

As someone who read about Chanel No. 5 and its ingredients before finally smelling the perfume, I actually thought it was gonna smell good because the book kept hyping it up "the scent was a mixture of sandalwood, jasmine, lemon & musk" and then in reality, it actually smells cheap, old, and disappointing, it only feels fitting for a 1920's costume cosplay (I can see how it was groundbreaking for its decade though).
