I agree with this, I've seen this video on 'iameloho' page where she speaks about drakes son and the uproar twitter had after he posted him. They saying his son ain't black(which, he isn't he's mixed) but if he was a girl the media would've acted different and black people would've PROBABLY claimed that racially ambiguous child. Plus create excuses saying "there are Africans that are born with natural blonde hair and grey eyes some where even born with blue eyes"

Normani has no excuse. She can’t blame her team or anyone else at this point. She lacks hunger and doesn’t really seem to want this. She acts like a well established artist who doesn’t need promo. She doesn’t do TV interviews, radio interviews, skits with Vogue, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Elle etc, magazine interviews, live videos with her fans, live VEVO performances on KZbin, post much or tease new music at all. She doesn’t even do covers. My point is that she doesn’t do anything to keep people talking or show her talent or that she’s actually working. We keep vouching for her but she doesn’t do anything to prove that she deserves to be repped. It’s like we want her to have a great career more than she does. And to make this worse, her music is not really anything to go crazy over. It’s not special nor is it memorable. “Wild Side” passed by like a silent fart. We need her to give stronger records and push them harder. We need her to show personality, have a gimmick that will be memorable and actually perform her songs at every event and at every festival until we’re tired of her. People say she should be bigger, but how when she only had three songs over the course of what’s now going to be 3 years. She has no motivation (ironically).

@@Prettypaid16 that’s a very ignorant statement. By that logic you completely invalidate other peoples experience through sexual abuse who are not conventionally attractive. Sexual abuse isn’t centered around someone’s level of attractiveness. Sexual abuse is about power and Control. Your statement also implies that people should be happy if they got raped because it means they’re pretty
@jama39972 жыл бұрын
I disagree bc conventionally unattractive people are more likely to be targeted. People are less likely to believe them bc society says if you’re “ugly” no one could POSSIBLY SA you. People care more about what you’re saying if you’re aesthetically pleasing. Attractiveness in this also applies to people deemed undesirable. That even includes physical and mental disabilities. Rape is about power not attraction. Someone in a vulnerable situation, treated with less care, has a very little support system (things attributed to conventionally unattractive people) are targeted
@seektruth57502 жыл бұрын
Wow, you hit the nail on the head with that “stop telling people what you wanna do “, I have been doing this this year because I was scared and wanted people I considered friends to validate that “yes” , this is right and you can do it and you are right, I saw a different side to people because the reaction was less than impressive and I finally understood that only I need to believe in me.

Then when I wear or buy cute outfits. She sees me in it. Wont compliment me. Instead wait till I wash it and put it in my closet then I see she has it on. She always brings me down and bashes on me for the littlest things even when I was doing amazing in school. I think there's space for everybody and nobody can say whos in the group and whos not, nobody owns rap. You can just pay more attention to newer female rapers that have different styles and include them instead of thinking "to add one we have to take one out"... no, you don't have to. People actually tend to listen to pretty people more and put them on a pedestal, it’s actually a psychological thing that humans tend to do. We are easily persuaded by someone who is conventionally attractive and even give them shorter prison sentences. Omg when he said that shit about the Halle Bailey stuff I was so happy. I thought I was the only one who thought like that. I hated how alot of black people didn't see the issue with Disney replacing white characters with black characters as a way to give us more representation. I understand that Ariel's race has nothing to do with the story, but I'd rather have another black female lead for more representation. At the end of the day, even if Disney replaced their characters with a black character, they would never be looked at as the original. I want original representation, not representation off of replacements.

SOME mothers are really jealous of their daughters, it's weird how that works because loving someone comes with accepting them for who they are & what they want to be. It has never made sense to me when mothers try to bring down their daughters....you should want your daughters to be the best version of themselves so they have a chance at a good life. Your daughter having a good life means your future grandkids will have a good life & being jealous of someone and being vile to them will be worse for you in the long run because your character will be exposed and you'll self destruct, eventually. Jealousy isn't worth ruining someones self worth or confidence.

Unpopular opinion: even tho I think normani is talented , I think she’s extremely overhyped , she’s a great dancer but great dancing doesn’t equal being a performer , she does the choreography that’s it , she doesn’t do anything on stage to interact with the audience , she doesn’t do a natural Unchoreographed bit in the middle of the performance to show personality, everything she does is something a dancer can also do , she doesn’t serve facial expressions, she has 2 faces on stage 1-sting face , 2-model face that’s it , there is no variety , she also has a habit of blocking ppl who give her constructive criticism, how is she gonna evolve as an artist with that attitude ? Dua lipa’s future nostalgia success was because she listened to people even though they were making fun of her , she turned it around , Normani can be a great stable pop-star but comparing her to a beyonce is a HUGE stretch , she doesn’t have the hunger , you can’t release your first ever single then disappear for 2 years and expect that you’re gonna get the same treatment as artists who are constant or consistent, that’s entitlement
