also, college admission essays cue student applicants to write a certain type of essay that demonstrates how woke they are, knowing without explicitly saying so, that such an essay will likely to be received better than those who are not. that in part reinforces the echo chamber of DEI policies.

I wish more details have been given to the story about COVID drugs distributed based on race. It is a well-known fact that there are some substantial health disparities due to racial makeup, like pre-disposition to diabetes or sickle cell disease. It is also well-known fact that in the early days of pandemic mortality rate among African-Americans was much higher than among other racial groups. In those cases race-based medicine seems totally justified, based on the general assumption that some ethnic groups or races are more likely to get certain illnesses.
