ok . 100% keva this time I like how colorful it is . and it looks almost like the classic domino project . . just scaled up whitch is quite cool keva planks definitely allow for more impressive structures than dominoes but it also takes Wayy MORE plaks , more time and , more space

This was such a beautiful project, and I liked watching how you kept building on your original idea. Wooden planks are fun because you can make so many structures. I definitely haven’t figured out the mechanics for toppling them reliably. There are some subtle ways in which they behave differently than dominoes. I’ve been fascinated by the cantilever bridge technique lately. I’ve mostly just been experimenting for fun with the technique lately, but usually not taking videos of it. Planks are a little more difficult to work with if used as dominoes because they are so tall. Looks like you had some issues with that too.
@Hevesh52 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'd say that continuing to build off of an idea is one of the best ways to make something truly unique.. and it keeps the long building process exciting and fresh. Very true that wooden planks behave differently than dominoes even though may appear somewhat similar. There's much more balancing involved, attention to weights, counterweights, levers, and understanding structural/architectural elements that make something strong or weak. I'd be curious to see what you can come up with using the cantilever bridge as inspiration - that sounds really interesting actually!

Ho Lili, look out girl! At 3:50 you are standing on the edge of that convenient table, and you risk toppling the table and yourself with all possible bad consequences. Please work safely! (Part of my daily job. Now i'll be quick continuing with your awesome building video ...) You were soo lucky when that airbud fell out! That is the disadvantage and risk in your profession of having wireless music. Although i'm not so much on the internet anymore i really enjoyed this video, your persistence and craftmanship and above all the joy you display in all your projects. Keep on going, you are doing so well!

hey thank you, I really appreciate all that you said! and will for sure be careful and safe 🙏 honestly the table seemed more sturdy than the ladder for some reason.

@@Hevesh5 Fine! i didn't want to be overprotective, but it is part of my daily job to pay attention to those things, and you were really taking a risk there. Just move the table and stand in the middle. And yes, the table is somewhat sturdier than the average ladder ;) i admire especially the way you are doing all your activities. You have come a long way and are still doing amazingly well. Good for you! i hope the film made about you will sometime be available on dvd or blue ray. Discovery+ is still not available where i live ... Occasionally i'll drop in on your channel and see what amazing themes, arts and tricks you come up with. Always a happy occasion and nice to watch. Woah, what a nice kapla structural setup. I love how you put all your effort and patience into your building. Making kapla wall like the final structure isnt very easy to make. You had to be very precise and concentrated to build on it without and knocks or accidents. I love your attitude that although you had suffered some risk to build, you still didnt give up, you rebuilt it instead. That was a really touching part. But, finally, after the setup completely and smoothly fell over, I really like your happy emotion for the worked setup. Thats how being a domino artist soemtimes will be (dont know if this lecture makes any sense LOLOLOLOL 🤣) BUT yeah, thats such a nice and satisfying video. They make these things, you may have heard of them, called speakers. Great for listening to music when you're alone and guaranteed not to fall out of your ear 😁😁😁😁 Great build, Lily. That much focused concentration over that many days must have been exhausting.
@RJSRdg2 жыл бұрын
The only issue is whether vibration from the speaker might cause the structure to topple...
@Hevesh52 жыл бұрын
I used speakers for most of the build actually, but switched to earbuds once the structure started to get tall/risky and I needed to film it all in real time in case something bad happened… mainly to avoid music copyright issues. Thanks! It’s a lot of focus but also quite therapeutic in a way.
@Hasmanian2 жыл бұрын
@@Hevesh5 I never thought about copyright issues. It's kinda amazing, all the things a KZbinr has to take into consideration. OTOH, I think any musician should be paying you for being in one of your videos.
@bikeny2 жыл бұрын
@@RJSRdg Yeah, I kept thinking the same thing. But then I imagine she floats over the living room floor so that her footsteps don't cause any vibrations either. Personally, I'd rather not hear any music during the video because depending on the mixing, it gets hard to pay attention to the speaker's voice (some aviation channels have background music so bad and distracting, I mute and use CC). Fortunately, her music, is not at that level, but it's still not needed. And I am very happy she didn't play any during the actual event. As others have said as well, the sound of the dominoes falling is part of the charm.
