Yeah Unreal is definitely cashing in the right way. Simple UI and all the tools in the world to teach kids to play with a top of the line graphics engine and maybe create something amazing.

yup, epic finally realizing they actually need to stop being gatekeepers in order to continue to be on the playing field. Linux came into the gaming world out of nowhere with all the opensource ideoligy and we finally get to see modding communities and open source material within gaming again, it's almost like we are hitting a second golden age, the only ones threatining it right now is microsoft and EA, if people actively avoid those companies until they play ball in the "let's all play together" way, there could be hope for the future of gaming. Just, Epic, this is a small step, you need to stop actively fight linux, linux is the future of gaming and the sooner you realize this, the better chance you have to be one of the companies that still matters in the future.

Exactly the model that Roblox follows. Power to the creators! This reminds me of custom gamemodes/mods in Counter-Strike:Source, Team Fortress 2, and Garry's Mod. More devs need to open up their engines to allow for community driven content! It creates for the best communities I've ever seen.

There is still a long road ahead. Much has to be done to make the environment at games more reactive and interactive. At games, your interaction in a fight is against your enemy where the surroundings like the land, trees, moving surroundings, buildings, mountains, fallen objects, etc around you are not affecting how you fight your opponent. It's understandable why this is the case as more processing power is needed.
