I would like to but what are the pc requirements for these projects?
@sergeantb.r3575 Жыл бұрын
I have a question; what is the right computer for downloading and installing Unreal Engine 5? My MacBook 💻 cannot install it.
@mostsophisticatedtrash9221 Жыл бұрын
@@sergeantb.r3575 just to install is quad core, 8gb ram, and a directx11 graphics card.. but to get the most out of all the features/tools offered, I think directx12 and all recent driver updates are required. Hardware raytracing requires nvidia 2000 and later or amd 6000 and later... but, after that, what you can actually do within the software varies depending on the power of what you got in your computer. I now have a computer that I know would handle this course for sure but I didn't get it because nobody answered me. There are computers that can download the software app but then can't do the same level of project as other more powerful computers... so recommended specs to avoid frying your hardware are kinda important....

Please create more tutorials for beginners using UE5. This was so incredibly helpful and well laid out!! Seriously, I greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into making this video, I will absolutely watch more content like this, and many many others will as well! This is top notch! Thank you. Please create more of these! :)

Things that are different in the full release of ue5 as I go through tutorial. The actors are now accessed through the create drop down, then selecting "place actors panel" The modes are now in a drop down menu in top left There is no "time of day" level preset, so I chose basic and it seemed to achieve the same results When adding the "clover patches on grass" there were multiple more options, I just picked the ones that looked the same as his 35:00 if it isn't obvious, he clicked ctrl+C then ctrl+V to copy paste those When making the Rock_MF and replacing the three things, I for some reason got a really metallic look, and my roughness one looked way different 44:34 make sure to exit landscape mode, go into selection mode, thrn select landscape to see the same things under the landscape details (this took me a min to figure out) 51:47 "enable edit layers" is toward the bottom, not at the top of the landscape section For some reason my fog did nothing no matter what settings I used :( 1:06:30 I do not have "ThirdPersonBP" like he does, just "ThirdPerson", but it worked the same
@MotionDesigner0092 жыл бұрын
the only problem with this tutorial is that he didn't explain well what he was doing in Landscape material chapter, it was all going over my head, he just kept on adding nodes after nodes.

i got my fog to work, and all i did was use the original one that was already made and move it up a bit and follow his settings. oh yeah you also have to increase "Fog Height Falloff" to like 1 or above to make it really noticable
@sonowbrand78242 жыл бұрын
Fog isn't working because "ExponentialHieghtFog" is already loaded in when you make the level under "Lighting".

Version: 5.1.0-23058290+++UE5+Release-5.1 (Mac) doesn't create a character, how do I do this? With mesh etc. Weird: when I play the game, there is a (female) character. The mouse can not click on the red square to end play mode: I have to use escape.

Honestly MY EYES GLAZED OVER when you were doing all those nodes in the Landscape Material part of this tutorial. I instead searched for and followed a simpler tutorial that allowed me to create a material with 2 simple layers, then began painting using those 2 layers over my landscape.

Shortcuts for adding commonly used blueprint nodes: hold S and click in your blueprint to add a Scalar, hold 1, 2 or 3 to add 1D, 2D or 3D constants (vectors), A for Add, M for Multiply, L for Lerp, T for Texture sample, U for UV (Texture coordinates) :D

The Post-Process Volume could do with a little explaining. It works by setting a boundary box area where if your camera is inside that box, certain settings are applied like a camera filter. That box is a visual representation of the boundary. Since we want to affect the entire world, regardless of the camera position, we tick the "Infinite Extent" box which removes the boundary box limitation and makes the post-process volume fill the whole world. You can still make more of these volumes for specific areas where you want a different filter, like inside a fish tank.

Fantastic Tutorial. Instructions were clear, the pace was good. I only ran into one issue. When adding the water, it wouldn't clip around the land. Just kept leaving me with a perfect square island. After a bit of Googling I found a solution. When creating the landscape plane, make sure to hit that box that says "Enable Edit Layers". After that, no issues.

I'm just watching videos now to get an idea what I can do with no coding experience before I try a demo project. I feel like some of these are like when you had an Atari 800 or Commodore 64 and had to type in pages of code you got from a magazine to make a game. Remember those days? Yeah, I'm old. You might get a functional game in the end but didn't understand a thing about what you did and why. I'm hoping your videos will teach me more than those demo tutorials did that I have seen for UE5. If you're having trouble with far away textures appearing too bright around 46:01, go to your Landscape_M parameters and increase the "Start Offset" value, it may change depending on your scale but -50,000 worked for me.
