In UE5's left-hand coordinate system, with the character's default Z-axis heading of 270 degrees, which is West, must be adjusted for accurate compass readings. You can either correct the compass offset to match the character's initial rotation or reset the default heading to 0 degrees on the Z-axis. This ensures the compass visually and functionally represents true directions. It's easier to just use an offset. How you would set that up is just a minor adjustment to the blueprint for the compass widget blueprint. Get Actor Rotation (Y-axis) --> ADD NODE (270) --> NORMALIZE NODE (It looks like %) --> DIVIDE NODE (360) The divide node plugs into the value. The offset you setup in the material would not be 0.5 it will now be 0.

When I go into the Player Blueprint for 1st person, the final method shown in this video is entirely absent. I don't really know how to adapt this to the engine.
