Hey Andy, thanks for the great demonstration and quick-start guide. This helped clear up a few issues I had figuring things out. However I do still have one lingering question; is there a way to solely render/export a foreground element with an alpha channel for use in another compositing software? (i.e an Airplane flying across the frame). If there's a way to do this, I must just be missing it. Thanks again for the tutorial and your help! :)
@yusrighouse Жыл бұрын
You probably already solved this, but in the Movie render queue there is a feature called stencil and render layers. You can render out FG as a layer and use the stencil feature to get an alpha cut out. William Faucher has an excellent video on this.

Hi Andy. Thanks so much for this. Really useful, got it working. One issue I'm having I hope you can help with is outputting the live 0010_comp out to a external recorder/moitor. My out put works ok using Media Capture. If I set the Media Capture, viewport captures, cameras array set to the composure comp 0010_comp I don't see the composite. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Coo, thank you very much. How to apply Color Correction Nodes like the PostProcessVolume to control each input individually? For example, Contrast, Saturation, etc. How do you control those options individually for each Layer, like the Video-Footage itself, the Background and the Composure Composition Layer itself? I tried to use a PostProcessVolume, but that doesn't really effect the Layer's inside of Composure. And finally, how do you use the final comp inside the Sequencer and render your final comp? Thanks a lot!

Very helpful. Thank you very much for doing this. When you have a moment, it would be great to know how to position the layers of composure. For example, how I would move the footage to the left or right. Cheers

Thanks for the video tut. I was trying to follow along and got stuck where i tried to pilot the camera and it automatically defaulted to "FG", which made the composure failed (around 17:28 of the video). I have no idea what went wrong at this moment.

What is the reasoning for the color transform when you output a pass to media capture? The documentation says this about the media capture output "This Pass has a Color Conversion transform associated with it, that runs prior to outputting the image." I have no idea why this is built in and why we can't access it or remove it. Is there no way to turn it off?

So frustrating, that you already have "media source" and "video Player" so you skip how to set that up, kind of makes the rest of this tutorial useless.

I like the prospect of Unreal engine producing real time renders, but there's no way compositing in this way will work for production use at least as it currently stands. Would just be better for lighters or compositors to work in Unreal, and jump back into Nuke for the actual compositing task. Maybe this will work for slap comps on-set or pre-vis.

I'm a n00b to unreal but have a BG in VFX (albeit 10 years ago). My goal is a still images of CG furniture on infinite white with transparent shadows for use on website/brochures. What I need is a shadowcatcher - is there a shader or methodology using Composure?

hello, could you possibly link on how we can apply the transform passes to a plane or object in the world, my plan is to project the media player onto a plane within the world that way i can just use a normal viewport and parent the plane to the viewport to keep it properly aligned within the world and its foreground elements. thanks in advance :D

When outputting the composition via SDI the gamma is still linear, does anyone know the correct way to apply a transform? I tried changing the global gamma to 2.2 in tonemapping but for some reason this didn’t look right.

It would be great to have a tut on exporting out composited sequences. I figured out how to export out the CG background and Foreground as EXR sequences, but the video layer is just exporting out as empty/black image files. I can work around this by compositing the exported sequences together in davinci resolve and then adding the original video file. But would be great to know how to export out with the video sequence images as well.
@emilpohjalainen2293 Жыл бұрын
Hi. Can I ask if you found the solution? Looking for the same info so curious to hear if you have learned something about it. Thank you!
@motionforgecg Жыл бұрын
@@emilpohjalainen2293 If you add the comp into Sequencer - And then go to Render Scene Capture (legacy) and select ComposureExport this will export out the composure as an image sequence. I don't use composure much though, so I don't know how to export out using the new movie render queue (which gives better quality). Although I do pretty much now always aim to export out in layers as it just gives more control in compositing/post processing.

Hi Andy thanks so much for this video! As someone getting to know Unreal intrigued by Virtual Production I just can't help but think why everything is so not intuitive, there's no way you could pull this off without some heavy guidance. I really hope this will get easier in time, there's no doubt that the work being done by the Unreal team is groundbreaking and it's just a matter of time that VP will be a part of regular workflows everywhere. I'd love to be a part of that future, as daunting as it seems.

Hi, would you be able to lock the green screen plate in a position and render out in sequencer? I m trying some post production thing with already filmed green screen...but I need the characters to stay in one place within the scene. When using a green screen material the frame rates are off in sequencer when I render..I m doing now the flip book method, but thats not working with longer clips. Could I use composer for something like post production and render out with sequencer? Thanks
@allansequeira3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's possible. You just need to create a plane, then drag and drop your input Media player on that plane. This video can possibly help you out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIu0pmyca7prsNk&ab_channel=hyperbolicfilms

13:50 you mention it's not in the 3D scene anywhere. Does this mean you have to frame the real world camera to how you would like the final output to be? If I move my camera the framing is off. There's no way to adjust the keyed result in viewport like a keyed video or image.
