Hey guys, just to clear up any confusion, there is no need to purchase both courses. All the content in the basic course is included in the advanced course, so if you purchase the advanced course you'll have access to all the course content that is available. The only difference between the two of them is that the advanced course has additional lessons included (about 1 hr of additional content) :)

Is there an overall skill level to have within Unreal Engine before following this course? Looks fantastic! Scratch that, I read down the comments and got your answer. I'll be purchasing this for sure. One question in regards to your Beginners tutorial. Is Unreal Engine 5 needed for this or can I follow along using 4.26 or 4.27 as well? Thanks again.

Awesome!! You can follow the beginner course in earlier versions of Unreal, but the interface has a few slight differences, such as the use of Quixel Bridge and the location of some of the menu items. Overall though, you should be able to follow just fine! Thanks for your comment!

Hey many, love the idea of this course. Is it for beginners tho? I have never touched unreal engine. Just thinking about starting this. Also, will unreal engine 5 run on Mac?

Thanks for your comment! There is a free Beginner course offered on the website if you're looking to try Unreal Engine and get started! (boundless-resource.com/course/unreal-engine-5-beginner-course/) I would recommend taking that and then enrolling in the Unreal Engine for Filmmakers Course, which you can find here: boundless-resource.com/ultimate-unreal-engine-for-filmmakers-bundle-build/ And yes, Unreal Engine 5 will run on Mac, however it does not yet support all the features such as Hardware Ray Tracing due to the differences in hardware between Macs and PCs with RTX cards. This won't affect your ability to follow along with the course however, and you should be able to get the same results! I'm working on a full guide for using Unreal Engine on Mac, which will be released with the new course updates I'm working on hopefully by the end of February! Hope this is helpful!

Fortunately, pretty much everything included in these courses translates directly to the newest version of UE5, however I plan to update the courses in the near future to reflect any changes between versions of Unreal as they advance. I also have several other courses in development covering even more content and strategies for filmmaking in Unreal Engine. At the moment I do not have a discord set up but it will be coming very soon!

Yes, the course covers composting live action footage in both Unreal Engine and After Effects, but not in Blender. You'll learn how to do two methods of compositing essentially: adding live action footage to your Unreal scene (demonstrated in the snow scene) and how to composite live action footage with an unreal engine render in After Effects (demonstrated in the ship flying overhead scene). I also teach about compositing fog cards in Unreal Engine. Hope that is helpful, thanks for your comment!

Good question! The advanced course includes everything in the basic course, plus extra. So no need to purchase both!

The course goes completely step by step through the process, so you'll see everything I do from the blank level to the finished result! I wouldn't say it's for total beginners though, as I don't show you fully how to set up the Engine or explain the total basics in some cases. I'm also working on a free beginner course for Unreal however which will be geared towards total beginners, so that once you complete the free course you'll have no trouble completing this course as well. All the lessons are online, and unfortunately you aren't able to download them for security purposes. I go through the process of downloading most of the assets from Quixel Megascans in the course and show you how to do so (it's free). Any other assets I used (primarily the fallen building) are included as downloadable files in the course!

Good question, this course does not go over virtual production. It focuses on using unreal as a free post production tool and creating cinematic scenes. However I plan to make future videos on virtual production! Thanks for your question and for watching!

There are lessons in both UE5 and UE4, but most of the course is done in 4.27, because it was the better fit for this scene. Most of the lessons will easily translate to UE5 though. Thanks for your comment!
