Hi, ive been able to follow your tutorial until 1:53, when toggling the 'use live retarget mode' to true nothing changes, the metahuman doesnt show the idle animation or anything, it just stays static like before. could you possible help me with this? (i use ue5.3)

This seems very simple indeed 🙂 However, aren't the LiveRetarget and "Always Tick Pose and Refresh Bones" too performance-heavy? Also, the Quin model is still attached, just set invisible. Will you have to include the Quin model, including its textures in the packaged game? I have seen tutorials that a bit more complicated but actually replace the Quin model with the Metahuman. Wouldn't that be a better option?

If it would be too performance heavy, why it is Part of every MetaHuman by default? MetaHumans are performance heavy indeed, but not because of the Retarget or the Quinn. Its because of the Details Level of a MetaHuman. So replacing the Quinn, with a lot of effort, wouldn't reduce the Performance requirements.

after retargeting nothing changes. i do 1on1 even start new project to see if there is a problem with my current project. nothing changes, meta human stay static. yes i have all the pluggins and so on. There is some other unknown issue.

I got the same problem. The step where you enable Use Live Retarget Mode nothing happens. The metahuman is still in T pose. Using version 5.5 and a newly created metahuman.

@@christhuy1 Users of version 5.5 tend to walk into this issue. I have no solution, but this exact thing happens, after following three different tutorials. Somebody said reinstalling the engine worked for them. I don't know.

Hi! This works great but I've run into an issue. When I quit out of the project, when I load it back up again my metahuman is no longer linked up with the animation and is in the T pose? The only way I've found to get it back synced with the mesh is to delete and re do it completely !

Yes, I plan to continue the Series. Very helpful tip at this Point. You just need to add Animations to the Third Person Character. Since the Metahuman is just a Child Blueprint, it will automatically use them as well.

1:18 Changing forced LOD doesn't make hairs appear. I don't have all the groom components attached to the face. I guess I have to add them manually. For something so simple, I was not expecting something else than spending several hours trying to make things work. Why nothing never works?

And the metahuman I downloaded has disappeared from the bridge anyway. I really fear to use metahuman again, I see how much troubles I have for 2 hours now, and I'm just at 2 minutes in the video

I would try that inside the MetaHuman Creator, that should be the easiest way.

Since the MetaHuman is already the Third Person Character, you don't need a new Animations Blueprint. If you created the BlendSpace for the ABP_Manny, it is already assigned.

That sounds more like criticism of the engine and not the tutorial. The question would be who defines what a character is. The engine is the basis for developing a game. It's like expecting furniture to be in the forest.
