It's weird; it's getting really close, and the Sensua demo probably looks flawless even with the exaggerated facial expressions because it's a custom model made in house with Epic undoubtedly giving direct feedback to Ninja Theory, but the normal Metahumans at 0:58 have a very subtle, uncanny thing going on with the mouth and teeth It's very slight, and the "CG eye" issue is actually fixed imo, but something about the mouth, the teeth, and possibly the rendering gives a very subtle uncanny valley feel that's negligible given how solid the models are. Possibly the teeth need a little more variation, maybe some slight discoloration on some of the models to break up the attention drawn to the mouth with how "perfect" they are All that said, it's actually astounding how great the tech looks, and the fact that it's (situationally) free is mindblowing

zeah i think it works perfectly when you look into the chaacters eyes and only see the mouth in your periphery

I still have the issue that all these tech that use depth scans have to use iPhone cameras. When is someone gonna release a $250 barebones camera array and opensource software? Currently the market is limited to Apple or industry grade. Apple got lucky on the gamble of including depth.

Yes, there’s already a few people selling Python scripts to export maya metahuman animation to Maya. Google “mad guru metahuman export” maybe?

Unreal supports Python - so you need to get a script that exports metahuman face animation to Maya or blender

In the demo. The mocap actor had the arm helmet attached a webcam with it. So it's possible with that too but coz of ledar sensors iphone give accurate results
