The body mechanics to perform a push is what makes it harder. My old partner had a shot we called "the punch kick". He set up a traditional long push shot but had a 1/8"-3/16" gap off the man and perform a closed hand pushkick to the top man square. Was an incredibly hard shot to perform since there was so little time to get the movement/speed to effectively launch the ball upward let alone have the hand speed to smack the ball square.

Hi Zeke, glad to see you keep uploading these great foos videos. I wanna know how to control the angle when you try to do a bank from goalie, or from 3 bar. I found that it's not easy, if I hit the ball a little more, it will just go straight. Should i keep my eye on the ball and player or what? And BTW should I always use open hand for bank and angle shot? Sure it will be more powerful but it not easy to control the accuracy.

Hey Zeke, thanks again for all the great videos. On an unrelated note, I have a question about how tight the bearing nut should be for tournament style play/your preference. A tighter nut seems to take out the extra play in the rod, which seems to make pulls, pushes, pull kicks, etc. easier. However, it seems a little extra play in the rod/looser bearing nut helps with roll overs. So how are the tables at tourneys set up and what do you prefer/recommend?

+Matthew Rigsby Typically new tables will be very smooth with the bearings being completely tightened. If the bearing is loose it tends to make the rod wobble with is not something you want. At local tournaments that have old tables, you typically have to loosen the bearing in order for the rod to have less friction because if you tighten it the rod becomes hard to move. You are right that a tighter bearing makes a roller harder to shoot but only if it makes the rod stick. Like I said that usually happens with tight bearing that have a lot of play on them. But the new ones are usually pretty good.
