The Alvarez with the Sitka top and Indian Rosewood back and sides is a new line that they just developed called the Laureate series. I do think you could use a step up/cheap mic (Shure has a $99 iPhone mic that's great) to block out air conditioners and fans etc. and focus in. With that the comparisons would be much more true/neutral. Also, these vids may be around a lot longer if so. Anyway, just thought id chime in. Much Love.

First off, I’m trying to understand the sound hole being in the cutaway on that Taylor. I noticed that same sound hole cutaway thing on another Taylor in one of your other videos the other day. How does the sound project up to the player when it’s on the bottom and still positioned outward to the audience?! What am I missing about that?! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Way to find another shop I haven’t heard about. Looks like a great spot. You saw a wide variety of guitars. Looks like they are very involved in providing a good experience at the shop while knowing when to step away and let you try the guitars without hovering around. What more can you ask for?
@guitarnotions

Loved this store, great people and very nice guitars. They cater to all types of musicians and would be a fantastic addition to any community. On the Taylor sound port - Taylor says the soundport cutaway offers all the accessibility and comfort of a traditional cutaway while helping the guitar produce a more immersive, high-fidelity sound. From my experience Playing - the guitar sounds awesome. Is it the soundport? I think it’s a combination of the design. I think that guitar mic’ed up by that soundport would sound great. Also if you are not a fan of a personal sound hole in your face this would be a nice option. You have to try it to know ❤️

Alvarez Folk 70 Was the best sounding guitar you played… I have had top of the line Of all the brands in the ($2,500-$4,500) range And they all sounded great But I honestly believe that in today’s world those (Yamaha red letter ?) ones made in Japan and those Alvarez made in Japan folk style are a joy to play and easy to hold ($1,500-$1,800) is amazing with the (same) tone woods) used on those ($2,500-$5,000) Martins, Taylor’s, Gibson, Larrivee etc is the was to go.. And I’ve played both Japan made Alvarez and Yamaha vs the china made ones.. There no difference cause they use basically the same Tone woods as the Japan ones and the china made guitars are about $300 avg Cheaper… Blessings Greg

Let’s hope not… but someday after we are all long gone they will be sought after vintage guitars with a story to tell ❤️

@@guitarnotions Yes, guitars have stories to tell... Well, WW3 is going on; they are trying hard to escalate. It´s about ressources and especially the Petrodollar, which enables the ongoing print of money... Thank you for letting those beautiful guitars speak out (I love the black Atkins in your other video; strangely maple seems to be my songwriter choice).

@@lebe220 that was my first experience playing Atkins. They are wonderful instruments. I especially loved that 12 fret. Came close to taking it home❤️

Those Eastman Guitars, Dana Bourgeois voices the tops and the rest is made in China. Great looking and sounding guitars though.

Wow I did not know that… so interesting! That explains the great sound. I heard most of the sound (not all just most) comes from the top❤️

@guitarnotions yes that's for sure. It's a value guitar. Bang for the buck. Lotta people I know are skeptical but from looking at the build quality, it looks great. 👌I'm not sure if Dana voices all the guitars for Eastman but he does the E10 and 20 D models.

How did you like the sound port on the Eastman?
@guitarnotions

I thought it sounded great. I think it helps hear what you are playing especially when playing with others. Just a thought, it would be nice if there was a way to Cover the sound port for times you may not want to hear it. Thanks❤️

I wonder why today there are f.i. minis, juniors and female versions of guitars ... What is the difference with the ¾ or the ⅞ I think there are nowadays more custom made models then the 'oldfashion' standard measures?
@guitarnotions
@guitarnotions Ай бұрын
They are fitting the preference of a diverse population- I think guitars are no longer “one size fits all”. I love the variety it sure makes it more interesting ❤️
