Those were the days. I always liked how Epic chose to use tracked music (amiga mod / protracker / XM / etc) over midi or pre-recorded stuff. It made the Unreal series feel like one big interactive demoscene production.

I remember copying this from ingame on cassette ! :) And I used to listen to it driving car.... while others listened to radio... everybody told me that I am mad ! ;) But I didn't care.... like the drums in this one very much...especially the "base drum" ! Although it really isn't an drum at all of course.

Alexander Brandon went on to do the music in Deus Ex a short time after this game was done. You can really feel the influence of RTNP's music in Deus Ex.

Ah, that Infogrames icon takes me back. Used to be a symbol of quality, it was. The sheer beauty of this track never ceases to amaze me, especially given it was basically .midi levels of sound. But it just goes to show it's not your equipment or your resources that make for good art, it's skill. Pure fucking skill. Everything else is trimmings.

You should open up this song in OpenMPT, and then convert it from Screamtracker 3 format to ImpulseTracker format and uncheck "Old Effects (IT)". You will hear a lot of notes that are completely missing otherwise.
