@@AaronApanui Quake 3 has much better movement, which is a huge part of arena shooters. Gaining speed as you jump and using rockets and stuff to accelerate even more makes quake a better game. UT very close though.

Compare it to some modern shooter that I've played. What makes this so good is speed. You start new game immediately. You pick up weapons instantly, without having to push a button. When you die, you just respawn and don't have to click anything

Tremendous play through, This game questioned my friends sanity growing up. Xan was the key on the final. He couldn't beat him so he got his dad who at the time played online via gamespy and kicked his ass in 5 minutes and just says "Dont forget to do your homework" legend haha

You got really lucky with AS-Overlord - the bots doing the job for you :D I remember countless tries (even on Masterful) where it took my team 7-8 minutes to even get past the Boiler Room bottleneck. And the snipers in the main cave typically slaughter everything (including you) in less than a second after running ouf of the tunnel. I don't think I've _ever_ won that map without destroying the cannon myself as the bots rarely make it even to the staircase... Anyway, crazy run! I remember beating the game on Inhuman back in the days (after _many, many_ tries) but I always liked to play it aggressive so I often finished a match with more deaths than frags (even the ones I won) so _no deaths_ on Godlike seems almost impossible to me.

I wouldn't say luck, infact the overlord run is very different from standard. If you notice, for some reason he starts with full ammo on it, instead of the default. Definitely a legit run, minus that fact though.

bro is so smart on CTF lava giant, november and giving orders to teammates like freelance to rylisa is quite intersting to see because of the inconsistent behavior without orders, also quite nice kill spots on shrapnel and what a risky but proficient one on peak, excellent shortcut on assault hispeed and so funny 3 rockets to the same guy on overlord and the sneaky critical-striker ninja cat on morpheus kind of hilarious, again what a risk on zeto and finally awesome map control on hyperblast epic duty, epic game, unreal fun, godlike entertainment

Hi those reflections look sick! One thing could be better is "Unreal/UT: HD Skins Full" mutator and to unlock it in tournament mode you can use "Mutator loader" mod (need to put it in system folder and enable in "Mod" tab and then you can use mutators everywhere

I can say from personal experience that this happened to me once, I didn't want to believe it either, but it seems that either there is a bug in the bots' aim system, or they were deliberately programmed in such a way that there is a chance for mistakes. But I'm sure that I didn't play with this new version, but with a much older one.

@@GamingGoldies Well, I decided to play through the game myself, and also recorded. Initially, I thought that in my case the enemies were at a real Godlike level, and the ones seen here in the video are more like Masterful or Inhuman. I've uploaded the walkthrough to my channel, if you're curious, check out the specific moments, especially the last Final Challenge parts (because I've also left the lost matches here). I have to say that whether you win or lose here depends a lot of luck. Here's an example: On the Phopos map, when I lost, the winner took 15 points in 2 minutes and 19 seconds. On my next attempt, when I won, the enemy below me only get 9 points in 4 minutes and 6 seconds. Also on the Zeto map, in my lost match, the enemy won in 3 minutes and 3 seconds, while in my next winning match, the second enemy only collected 9 points in 3 minutes and 4 seconds. Xan seemed like the easiest opponent for me, but that's because you only have to focus on one enemy, so your tactics can be different. You don't have to rush through the match, you have time to attack carefully. Oh, and in one scene, he also played a minigun misfire on me, even though it's 100% Godlike level.

This is easy bots not godlike lol, godlike don’t like to miss shots and give you second chances. His skill is low and he can beat only average bots. Try godlike bots, you’ll see the difference. They have 360 degrees vision, ultra aim, they always know your location, they use cheater double dash and so on.

@@808f4n I was also skeptical when I saw the video, because I also remembered that Godlike bots were much stronger. That's why I picked up the game again and decided to play it on Godlike difficulty (I've never done that before). And you won't believe it, but Godlike bots also make mistakes. What you describe is also true, but not always. They simply do not behave flawlessly 100% of the time. One thing is for sure that you have to be very lucky in such a difficulty level, especially in the Final Challenge. I've uploaded the walkthrough, if you're curious about the critical moments where you think the bots should perform better, check it out. In the Final Challenge, I directly left my failed matches, and there it is clearly visible that I am playing on Godlike difficulty. At the very end, Xan played the minigun misfire with me too. Anyway, Xan was one of the easiest opponents when I playng the Final Challenge, in the beginning he seemed much harder and more skillful, then as I started getting more and more frags, he seemed to get more and more clumsy over time. Ohhhh and the Fractal laser incident is also true. I tested it offline, and if you're very lucky and can jump or bounce off the laser fast enough, it won't trigger death. I don't know why the developers didn't notice this.

Granted I haven't played on godlike mode, but for shrapnel I like to chill in the room where the shock rifle spawns (by the elevator to flak cannon) and just shoot out at people in the middle room from there, 2 health packs, thigh pads, more health packs up the elevator. Pretty safe and easy to kill if they try to push the room. More action than sitting by the shield belt

Obviously modified parameters of bots in User.ini. Goodlike does not mean shit in this case. When I play on that skill, my biggest problem is not dying, but not killing fast enough. These bots in video behave like being on Average (they have very bad aim, fire rate is very slow) so they were tuned down by copying some lame bot, like Blake to all other bots parameter settings. I am not saying, you are bad. I like your work with shock rifle, but behavior of bots is really off.

Unfortunately I am in the camp of wondering whether this is Godlike. It either isn't, or you got insanely lucky. There was a section, one of many examples, where Xan was shooting at you rapid fire, and not a single bullet hit. On Godlike difficulty that never happens.

Agreed. The "overlord" mission on assault is damn near impossible past the first checkpoint. That first underground room is unpassable unless you get through it on the first try when you breach the beach before the enemy team gets set up for defense.

Too much camping, it is a self-deletion to camp with godlike bots. Also bots are lousy shots. That's no luck. Now as Devil's advocate: he's probably using headphones and the OpenAL or EAX audio enhancement, that's the only way to pinpoint the players accurately just with sound.
