Any updates or ideas on how to record the cg background separate from the camera footage? If been hitting my head against a wall trying to figure this out… Adding the cinecamera actor into take recorder and recording a take is showing what I want which is only the cg elements and background being recorded, however, when I render it out, it still renders the camera feed as well with the background… Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hello my VP Friends, i'm using unreal 5.1 and the garbage matte is not working, it's balck and the object from the layer dows not holdout the Pass, any idea from somebody?

You have to edit the material and put a THIRD TextureSampleParameter2D named like your matte_element1 and connect it in the material Alpha input in the OVER box.

Hi, Jake. Thank you for your perfect tutorial here. I would like to know whether it is all possible that composure could be run at play mode and the solution to make that come true.

This is so overwhelming and not enough documentation out there. Thank you so much. Have you ever messed with the reality engine fork? The keyer is what looks amazing. But UE composure looks simpler

Jake this is awesome, saved my many sleepless nights. Did you ever do anything similar the other way round? Having a physical studio and adding virtual elements like screens etc.?

Great pioneering. You must have spend a few late nights to have worked all of this out. Likely the most interesting video i have seen on a DYI virtual production ever. It seems complicated, but again if this can be done with a game pc and bmpcc then everyone can do their own Hollywood production in their bedroom. Would you at some point be able to share a starter project with some of the config pre-made? Im not sure i could repeat all of the steps myself.

I agree, this tech unlocks so many possibilities for people. I bet you can get it, it just takes some practice. I am not sure how helpful sharing these levels are, but I can try to share the next one. No promises though.

@@JakeGWater It is very very very helpful!!!! Pls make the one where you actually film it and render it out! I am struggling to figure out how to film composure. Thank you a lot!
