Hi Everyone. If you are implementing this in 4.24 or higher you will need to use the node, Linked Anim Graph instead of Sub Anim Instance when you get to the Animation State Machine section. They function in the same way but it seems that Sub Anim Instance is no longer showing up. Everything else seems to be working great in this excellent tutorial. Good luck!

I have one problem. When i jump onto the ladder and go up and exit top ladder it continues to do jump animation that was previously being run before i grabbed the ladder. Is there a way to blend in to normal walk/idle cycle after exiting the ladder ? Using ue4 4.24.1 with als v4

Hi! I have one issue, when the player climbs on the cube BPs he can't exit custom movement(he can't jump off of the ladder), he can do it only if he is in the top and he climbs down. Do you have any idea where the issue should be?

I fixed this, I had to add the isCustomMovement macro at the beginning of the Jump action input

I managed to do everything right by watching your video, even using the Advanced Locomotion System V4, there were some problems, but I managed to solve it. Sprint breaks when I get off a custom movement node. You can still run, but sprinting no longer triggers.

I followed this tutorial to the letter but when climbing, the animation doesn't work properly and the characters arms and legs just keep shooting up and down glitching out against the wall, any idea what I did wrong?

This was an awesome tutorial, thank you very much. Just a quick question: my system works but I seem to get some animation stuttering when climbing up ladders. The rocks work just fine bu the ladders seem to cause a slight stutter in the animation. Do you have any advice?

My Camera seems to zoom into the back of the character every time I start climbing, it zooms out again after climbing. I've gone through the tutorial several times and cant seem to identify whats causing it. any educated guesses? Edit: I realised this bug only happens after sprinting (holding shift) I temporarily fixed the problem by changing the rotation mode to 'looking mode' but then it goes back to bugging after a couple tries. I can also set the camera back to normal by right clicking (assuming for the same reason)

You wouldn't need to limit the camera rotation if you remove the Do Collision Test nodes, I.E: Leave it set to true, what's the use of turning it off?

The camera was moving around when climbing on certain types of ladder meshes.

Great tutorial once again , I had some issues with the completed merge when testing the Custom Movement DemoMap. Camera angles seemed a bit strange when the ladder or handholds were not orientated at 0 in the yaw plane. This is a GREAT tutorial. Unfortunately following along eventually hitting some roadblocks. I know this is for ALS v3 but was hoping to use ALS v4. The tutorial kinda takes a nose dive once you get into trying to set up the "EVent Tick" which is now inside Tick Graph. And way different. :( Anybody had any luck with ALS v4 and Custom Movement?

The Update Graph inside of the ALS_AnimBP holds all of the Foot IK controls. Not as simple as a Boolean where we can disable the Foot IK like in the tutorial. Creating an Advanced Locomotion System project targeting Engine Version 4.23.x will create the project with ALSv3. You lose the climbing system but you can still open the project in Engine version 4.24.x. I personally would like both integrated and choose which is used with the use of the Zones. I will continue to try. I will share here for you if I get all of the issues sorted.

I thought I did 2 weeks ago but I must have trashed what I did and went another route, scrapping custom movement at the time, as my project's missing all that. I'm mostly looking for the mantle system which comes in v4, along with the custom movement for scaling walls and such. Still trying to work this out with the tutorial done here by Brian, mixed with some others, to get 'something' at least :D

how would i go about combining all of this into the survival GameKit? should i do all this then go to your Video on Merging ALS to Survival GameKit? Last question should i do all this before i update mesh to my character?

I would add custom movement last. Do the ALS/sgk merge first, and then do this merge. Come into discord and we can help guide you through switching characters meshes.
