honestly, i agreed with her when she argued over the potatoes in the team match. That dish was all soft textures and the sauce mash made it even softer and fluid. Her concerns were completely valid and there was a ton of miscommunication in that team. The team leader did not lead the team properly and the individual chefs were too headstrong and stubborn to work together without guidance. As for the criticisms about her holding the knife, not turning off the stove and pouring the cream in, yes Those i agree are valid. However, the amount of frankly disgusting hate comments were not warranted. Shes being told to die ffs.

Now i can get why she acted like that. It's just about her standard. She is the person who considers texture VERY important. She may be frustrated at the team mission because the result was too textureless(which is very different style from her's). And in my opinion, the team leader should have managed all those unproductive sparks but she didn't do well then. Everybody in that team are seemed to little panicked so that was the reason of early phase of disharmony. But at the end, finally they made it peacefully and things are well done.

I honestly can't understand the people who are defending her. It feels like we didn't watch the same show. Yes, some people are taking it too far to criticize her, but that doesn't change the fact that she trolled so much in the team competition. She completely forgot about the potatoes that she was in charge of and never apologized for it. She walked around with a knife facing upward. She sabotaged the team recipe by pouring cream on the potato mash even though the team explicitly agreed to hold off that idea right before she did so. Above all, she was disrespectful to Chef Choi on multiple occasions. And it just so happens that he has a substantial fandom in Korea for being a down-to-earth guy. It's great that people benefited from her youtube channel, but that doesn't justify her unprofessionalism and disrespect towards her colleague in the show.

None of them covered themselves in glory in the team challenge, so it's just a bit lopsided that only she's getting the criticism. Which I suppose is because she's less decorated in terms of qualifications Vs other white chefs so people feel she's an easy target. Appreciate she was rude (probably over zealous on trying to get her point across to someone who wasn't even willing to listen to her opinions), but so many of the nasty comments are unwarranted. Also don't think she sabotaged the dish (?!) it ended up working out well and they lost by a small margin which if you're clocking that down directly to her, that doesn't give the black spoon chefs enough credit for preparing a good dish...
@이한-f8t17 күн бұрын
@loveesongtoday It's the other around. People started criticizing her because of her behaviors, then noticed that she was also less decorated in terms of qualifications, which added fuel to the fire. Yes, I agree that she was probably acting rude because she was overzealous. She seemed like a zealous person. As for others who weren't even willing to listen to her opinion, I'm not sure which scene you got that impression from. The one instance that I do remember where others didn't listen to her suggestion is when she disagreed with chef Choi's suggestion to add sauce. This may be the main reason she is receiving criticism because she was unwilling to listen to chef Choi's suggestion. This is when she sabotaged the recipe as well because when the leader said she and chef Choi should make samples of their respective ideas to decide which one to go with, she came to chef Choi who was making his sample and complained that he was taking too much potato for his sample, when he was taking only a chunk. Then she took the rest of the entire potato mash and poured cream for her own sample. The entire batch. In the end, the team decided to go with chef Choi's idea after tasting his sample, but how can his recipe taste as he had planned when the rest of the batch is soaked in cream, which wasn't part of his recipe? I mean, it's right there in the video.

I like Seonkyoung Longest and have been a fan for a long time. She definitely doesn't deserve all this hate. But I will say she didnt deserve to be on the White Spoon team. That goes for a couple of the other White Spoon chefs too. They were just chosen because of fame, not skill. They are basically amateurs compared to rest of the team who are renowned in the culinary world and have literally decades of professional chef experience (like Edward Lee, Choi Hyun Seok, Jung Ji Sun, etc). If I recall correctly she won the Food Network show, worked in a restaurant for a few months, and then quit to become a KZbinr. That's about the extent of her cooking background. So that means while she is a good cook, she was way in over her head in this competition. Even most of the Black Spoon chefs had more experience than her. I'm not surprised she was eliminated.

Genuinely don't understand the hate from team challenges? Normal to feel a certain way in arguements, everyone had valid points, everyone had opinions on what is best because they want to win. The team fell apart for a moment and end up fine in the end. What is the big deal? If anything she was brave enough to drop her battle and decide to go with her teams idea after tasting it. She let go of her pride to win. Edit: after being informed and educated on the real reasons.. valid. Still does not warrant death threats and racism. Literally go seek therapy.

No one's criticizing her for expressing her opinion. The reasons (plural) she's getting a lot of flak online include the following: 1) Incredibly dangerous knife etiquette during the team mission (whipping the knife around with the pointed end facing towards other contestants) 2) Forgetting about her one job, the potatoes (Her excuse was "I forgot cuz it's a team match". How on earth does that make any sense?) 3) Getting into an argument with the team leader (chef Choi) about what to do with the potatoes. As you can see, in all other team matches and like what happens in all professional kitchens, the head chef / leader's word is what the team needs to follow. 4) After the WHOLE TEAM agrees to hold off on the main batch of potatoes until all parties agree on which direction to take, she just dumps all the cream (her method) into the main batch. 5) Even after the entire team votes on chef Choi's potato puree, Longest keeps trying to argue, saying things like "we need to eat it with the meat! I'm still completely against this idea." 6) After they won the team event, where Judge Paik compliments chef Choi's potato puree idea, she goes on and on about how they won "thanks to me not insisting til the very end. I'm glad chef Choi's insistent idea was the right answer". As you can see in the above chain of events, she just steamrolled ahead with her method, disregarding the team's opinion. (As a reminder, the entire team voted for the other chef's method of potatoes.) 7) Dumb, abrasive remarks made towards other contestants followed by a "just kidding~!" as if that makes up for everything. I get that she has a KZbin following but the criticism she's getting does have merit. Not only is she just a KZbin creator, surrounded by award winning chefs and actual professionals, but she also acted completely immaturely and it was a terrible look.

Ehhh no lets not justify bad behavior now. She was not a team player. Yes, you can and should provide feedback but not in the way that she did it. She was highly unprofessional by forgetting to turn the heat on the potatoes in the first place when that was her role, then she went on to sabotage the mashed potatoes by dumping cream in it while Chef Choi Kyung Lok was making the sample sauce for them for taste. She then went on to say that she was proud of herself for giving in when in reality her mashed potatoes did not fit the overall dish and she had the attitude of a teenage 13 year old all throughout. Not to mention that she is an influencer not a professional chef like the rest of the white spoons and she should’ve been casted a black spoon. All of this combined caused major outrage for most. They shouldn’t have casted her as a white spoon. Had she had been a black spoon it probably would’ve been different feedback wise.

The comments just show how editing manipulates narratives. She is done dirty by the production crew, as well as the white spoon meat team leader who people hate now because EDITING. They (as well as the dim sum chef, all three ladies) are terrific chefs, and have amazing styles. This chef is always very cheerful and keeps her sweet smile on, and her cheerful personality radiates strongly throughout her appearance, and that is really an achievement because they have long shootings hours, and if anyone read their interviews, the shooting venue has extremely strong AC and everyone was cold but the production crew didn’t allow them to put blankets over their shoulders because that would damage the black/white aesthetic, so you can see the chefs observing above all have blankets on their laps. Obviously her culinary skills is well-established, a well-earned white spoon, but she is also a lovely bubbly person, and despite the editing of the team challenge she seems to get along very well with the other chefs. Of course clashes happen in the kitchen when you throw a bunch of established chefs together, and they highlight all the fights also in contrast to the black teams good coordination, but it really isn’t fair to the white lady chefs that they are painted as the ‘bad guys’. There are so much more happening off screen, you cannot define a person with just a few small moments. I love her and the other white spoon ladies, they cook with elegance and style.

She was so rude and condescending to him; it was painful to watch the way she treated and talked down to him. Her cooking credentials are not better than his, so I’m not sure where her superiority attitude comes from. I know she has a lot of KZbin subscribers but most people in the US do not know who she is and the competition she won is not famous. The US has a gazillion small cooking competition shows and the one she won is not top-caliber or well-known like Iron Chef, Masterchef, or Top Chef. She says she won the competition on the “most prestigious cooking channel in the US”. But as far as I know, the US has only 2 cooking channels, and one owns the other. Lol. They are basically of similar quality. They need to stop exaggerating her credentials to the international audience. I’m not saying she isn’t a good chef-I don’t know that-but she needs to get a more humble attitude given her relatively minor accomplishments as a chef.
