Unresolved Pain After Epidural Injections

I had these injections. I had about a month of relief but years of rebound pain and recovery from that. I experienced leg weakness, extreme muscle spasms in my back, exacerbation of carpel tunnel syndrome, memory loss, and mood swings. It's taken years to recover from those injections. Surely, I can't be the only person who has had this experience.

I had most of those yes. I got my injections 6 days ago and let me tell ya, it has been hell. Headaches, feeling in a daze, short term memory loss, numbness in areas I didn't originally have it in, back spasms, and I move very slow when turning because my body is stiffening to where it is hard to move anything. I hope there is some type of relief sooner or later because the sleepless nights trying to find comfort can take a toll.

Omg same...she tried 6 times becausr i kept feeling the needle to the left than middle and i have all the symptoms you have mentioned 😢

I am having twitching down my left leg. I really believed I had a CSF leak and by the time I had a cystogram it had healed enough to be too small to find. My head and body freaked out after that cystinogram and I needed a blood patch through asap. Since then my left side, the original side of my injury has been twitching and left side of face hurts.

July is my epidural and now is April still I have headache specially today when it's very hot weather...it's hard to keep this feeling

I would love to see you I have had two sets of bilateral epidurals. But I’m in more pain then I ever was. It hurts I’ve been to so many doctors and they all want to do more epidurals but the first two sets that I had pained me even more. I’m scared for the future

I really appreciate your answer as I am in sever neck pain..here is my MRI RESULT MRI CERVICAL SPINE History: OA. Left radicular pain. Results: The previous MB of 2021 has been reviewed. There is disc narrowing with loss of T2 signal at C4/5 and C5/6. There is slight loss of height of cervical and thoracic vertebrae, unchanged since 2021. The spinal canal above C4 and below C6 is capacious. The upper cervical cord and medulla appear intact. The facet joints are normally aligned. No compressive disc protrusion is seen from C2 to C4. The neural foramina are patent. At C4-5, the disc is mildly protruding. C5 nerve root impingement is not suspected. At C5-6, the disc is protrading. There is no cord compression. Acquired foraminal stenosis is present bilaterally particularly on the right with decophyte formation, with evidence of C6 nerve root impingement. The C6-7 and C7-T1 discs are kormal. The C7 and C8 nerve roots are clear. Comment: There is acquired foraminal stenosis at C5-6 bilaterally particularly on the right, but no additional high grade stenosis is seen. There is no cord compression.

Hi Dr, would a PRP cervical epidural be too risky and not worth it when there is severe central/foraminal stenosis with cord compression? I'm guessing you can't really inject too much PRP as there isn't much space to work with? Also could injecting PRP cause even more cord compression and possibly hemetoma? Thanks.

Hematoma is a possible complication from any cervical epidural, regardless if PRP or corticosteroids are used. PRP can be used in cervical epidural and results appear to be better than corticosteroids. I can't comment on if it's appropriate for your case or not though as I'm not your physician.

Someone need to also talk about the after symptoms they can be more extreme before the epidural starts working if it works , and pain medication not helping which adds to no sleeping

Please help me. I just had the epidural today…. Not sure?!?!?! I have herniated Disc & Bone Spurs… also just told I have a birth defect where my bones did not form all the way and close around each desk in the lower lumbar and sacral area… Along with spinal stenosis narrowing of the spinal column… Please help me I’m just lost in the shuffle
