Sadly here in the USA, there are veterans and senior citizens that are living in CEMETERIES. A fellow senior citizen once told me that she felt safer sleeping and living in a cemetary than a senior citizen facility.

at 11:30, when you said "as-salaamu 'alaikum" to the brother, he replied with, "wa'alaikum us-salaam warahmatu Allahi wabarakaatuh (and upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah and the blessings)". it is the formal return of greeting.

I have experience in this field, and since then I feel overwhelmed with happiness whenever I see these places, and I feel that I am approaching a wonderful luminous world that no one in this world can comprehend. These feelings are related to the subject of belief in God, the Creator of the universe, and sincerity in worshipping Him alone, with no partner for Him. Belief in God guarantees the happiness that we lack in the material, fleeting, and mortal world.

I don't know why you leave beautiful places in Cairo and you look for negative places. Every where in the world, we find the best and the worst. I think your video is trying to show only the bad side of the pkaces you visited. I visited Egypt, and I enjoyed the country and its great civilization and kindness of its people. So please be positive and have a nice and pure spirit and respect towards others. My greetings from Morocco 🇲🇦.

@redmarrakech947 I think Cemetery got some special aura around them. I do not think he wants to show a bad place. Mostly, old cemetery is neglected as of change in people's attitude. Maybe not most desired place to see for many .

Just got back from Egypt. The only time the wild dogs were a potential problem was near Aswan at a Nubian homestay. Walking around the neighborhood a couple growled and followed us. We had to throw rocks near them to scare them off. Otherwise they're ubiquitous in cities, the desert and countryside but usually not a problem. Surprised too that someone complained that the poster only shows "the bad side" of Egypt. I don't think so at all. The people living in places like the City of the Dead are just like anyone else. Maybe a little poorer but from street to street in Cairo you can see that change from more affluent to much less. But in general away from tourist sites people all seemed mostly pretty friendly and kind.

Unfortunately it is this same, tragic picture in most of the most Muslim countries. Cemetries are abandoned and neglected places They have no public or private caretaters. In Egypt and othe Muslim countries rich families bury their dead in the extra spaces of their large homes. Poor people are compelled to bury their dead in these absurd, pitiful, dirt-laden ghost places. Many have no money to buy a marble grave stone wth the name of their dead family member carved on. If they come back after a week for a visit and prayer they may not recognise the grave of their dead because every day around the clock the dead are buried and the graves have no numbers. The visitors have to be content with just praying for all the dead. As in the case of most Muslim countries cemetries have no walls and no security. Some are centuries old and through time abused and trampled on, they rarely look cemetries and like these in old Cairo have become the shanty towns of the poor and homeless. They're often the meeting and hide-out places of drug gangs, thieves and dangerous criminals. The bizarre, sorrowful state of Muslim cemetries is a contrast to the clean, orderly "living" cemetries of Christians. Christian cemetries have steel walls, guards and caretakers. They're places where the dead can rest in peace without being disturbed or trespassed on. They have workers who clean them, plant trees and flowers in the spaces that makes the cemetry look like a garden. It reflects the eternal love of the passed away loved ones, the believe in paradise and the reunion, a living conscience and a high respect for humanity. Those who don't respect the dead, don't respect the living and the opposite is true !
