Context: Heavy spoilers to the whole series warning(though I doubt you would happen to watch it till the end) Due to Lain being like a God and having a lot of mental disorders, there were many different godlike Lains and one of them, the laughing one(real Lain later strangles her), had seen Alisa masturbate(since all Lains are everywhere at the same time) and somehow managed to make it a public knowledge(perhaps with a video evidence). So, this scene is when the whole world around her gets fairly surprised that she peeped on Alisa and for some reason decided to tell the whole Internet(which is basically the whole real world at this point) that Alisa masturbates at dreams about a teacher. Real Lain though doesn't know what her another personality did and starts to panic like any socially anxious person would do. In the end of the scene, when Lain starts to mumble "Alisa, where are you?" she gets a message from her that basically states "Don't mind the rumors" which is a phrase from earlier episode. I guess it implicates that since it's not a rumor and everybody knows it, then there's really way to fix this situation physically.

@@Trancymind well, that is unclear. Either way I doubt he would consider suicide since there's nothing about him being interested in her. Well, in the end he married her as she got older but it doesn't mean he had been attracted to an 8th grade girl. He probably would just change schools to escape this scandal or simply ignore it since it's not his problem.

Basically the show is Lain going into Psychosis, as the ending for the series shows all the clutter, but the game, same ending, shows it clear and that says that it may have all been in Lains head and she(ending) to stop it which ended the series. All throughout we see how others were afflicted by issues like her sister, who snapped, but I say that scene was her sister having a mental break, and basically became catatonic, because everyone says thats basically her sisters death and yes, you see lain looking at that spirit of her fade, but it’s all in lains head, she’s suffering from Psychosis hence all the disorienting imagery especially in the end scene, and her sister probably just developed some issues as well as it was likely hereditary, I love this series

For me who came here not knowing anything about Lain and just a procrastinator who went by, things that I found settling here are: - The artstyle: To be honest without any action related, the artstyle scares me, from the eyes to facial expressions...or just the face because honestly mostly are like devoid of emotions and thats the 2nd. - The characters devoid of emotion: as if they were like dolls who were cursed to looks at you for a reason which leads us to the next one which is - The stare for no actual reason or for a “ What!? ” reason For me who doesn't know sht, I just thought she's just playing a game in her gadget or whatever, and then after that the people around were like 👀, except they stare to you like there's no tommorow to come for your life. It's just unsettling. - And the amount of people who stares at her: Think about it, if you ever think of it in real life someone who is using a gadget on the class can be highly noticeable by everyone inside the class, and it's normal. But the fact that, when she go out of the room and even in the other rooms stares to her like the fact that: “ What do they know to what I just did? Why did they ever know? ”, it's just really unsettling for me, and thats miht be because they might be connected as well and will later on leads as to the next - The being " odd " So if ever anyone in the school looks at you, even though you just did something supposedly can only be seen inside the class nor known or the fact that the people outside the room, they stare at her like she's odd, having also carrying the fact that " they stare at me, why? how do they know? what's happening? " is indeed " odd " too, they stare at her, if it was like she's odd, and it's odd to her why, and she didn't know why that would be the point, we tend to fear something we don't fully know, what it can do...what it may be doing, or what is it? It fears us, and we also fear something that is bizzare in nature, something that is not right makes us afraid, you know the phrase “ Something's not right here. ” and then fear comes, horror thingy shts came in so that concludes. Its just my opinion and my point of view towards the video though...
