Helen's childhood sounds a lot like my maternal grandmother except my grandma was an orphan by age 12 and was forced to live with an abusive grandmother who was wealthy but forced my grandma to work as a maid. When my grandma turned 16, she immediately left and never looked back. Ended up working as a medical secretary, met my grandpa, got 5 kids and adopted 5 more as well! She still has a huge heart of gold and I'm lucky to still have her in my life 💖 Love you mamama!

Just watched such an amazing interview with Robert Stack within the last decade of his life. Few things I learned: an actor who was close w many of the great movie stars like Judy Garland. He was Italian. How handsome he was (you can’t see his face so clearly. He had amazing eyes and hair.). This series made me scared of the host. The association with the scary unsolved cases with Robert Stack narrating and asking for the public’s help. He was just such a delight; the complete opposite of frightening. Wish he was still alive. He made this series great RIP Robert Stack

Helen was amazing. God bless her. Edit today, 6 June 2022: it's very sad that the policemen, and lawyers, etc, when they get a syspect, refuse to look elsewhere, i.e. for the real truth, and instead fixate on a sad solution that salves the problem, and the case at hand. The police still do it today. They hang onto one idea, one suspect that they believe is guilty, and totally neglect looking anywhere else! They need to follow the evidence, gather everything, and if something doesn't fit, then find out why- not throw out what doesn't make sense to them, and only present evidence that matches their scenario, rather than the crime scene. To do otherwise is shoddy policework.

@jonathanturbide22325 жыл бұрын
Heya Joanne, great comment! indeed in the Strangler/Sullivan segment that can be found on the Murders dvd set, nothing linked DeSalvo to Mary's murder. The main theory was that a former boyfriend of Mary's roommate had done it, before leaving town. Personally I thought it was a great lead. That episode was produced in 2002, and the new evidences against DeSalvo came in 2013 - either the tests made before the episode were inconclusive due to the evidences collected at the scene and on Mary's body (which happens on a regular basis), or they were being processed at the time the segment was produced. It's a good question, and it would be great to have a specific timeline as to what was done and when. Worth looking into. 👍

Catholics were a targeted group as well, due to their belief in human life as scared, e.g. no abortion, euthanizing, capital punishment etc. Many priests and also other clergy were put away for that belief, which is incompatible with the eugenics movement the Nazi's espoused. Also, political prisoners of various types like Communists and even apolitical groups, such as Jehovah's witnesses were targeted
