In a documentary by William Armstrong, a son expresses his grief through dance after the death of his father. Still haven’t subscribed to The New Yorker on KZbin ►► bit.ly/newyorkeryoutubesub

This is my 2nd Father's Day with out my father the 1st one came and went with me sitting at the graveyard with no grave stone as he had just passed in late April. I think I have a better handle on things now. I was able to get up and enjoy the day with my family, go to the beach but deep down in my soul I miss him more everyday... You think you're prepared you think of course this is the way it is I'm 42 you're 80 it's time for you to go but nothing prepares for you. Truly nothing prepares you for the absolute raw pain that is losing a parent. This video just brought me to total meltdown.... I can't imagine not being with him I fought so hard to be able to be with him in the ICU it was quite the fight and then finally in the end they allowed me and my daughter to be there and he passed about a 1/2 an hour after they finally kicked me out....

I was 39 and my dad was 80 when he died. That was in 1990, and I felt then just as you do now. It takes a long time, but it does get easier. I wish you well on this journey.

Wow, It’s been a long time I have not watched how words and feelings could be expressed by dance movements. Each gesture has a word behind it .

Stunning tribute; a beautiful and moving way to say goodbye. Emotes the sadness yet also exhibits the passage of time and helps heal old wounds. Thank you. A new way to experience grief.
